● A hidden cat cafe in Ogikubo ● Many of the cats are well groomed, and I get the impression they're well trained too. ● A clean space without animal odors, ◎ ● I think the cat food and drinks are reasonably priced too.
View on GoogleFirst of all, the good thing was the low price of 500 yen for 30 minutes. As others have written, the opening time is practically meaningless. It wasn't open even at the advertised time, so I wandered around nearby to pass the time while checking whether it had opened. Inside, despite having just opened, the room was dusty and cat hair was scattered everywhere. It was far from clean, and I couldn't even consider ordering a drink. I actually thought about leaving immediately, but the elementary-school child with me had been really looking forward to it, so I reconsidered and decided to stay briefly. When I visited, there were only adult cats, all calm and placid. They didn't respond to toys either. But when treats came out, they approached very eagerly, competing to get there first, as if their previous lethargic, listless behavior had never happened. Once the treats were gone, they went back to being indifferent. Normally I stay a long time at cat cafes, but considering the health of the elementary-school child with me, I left after 30 minutes.
View on GoogleIt's a small, relaxing, tucked-away space. There are plenty of games and manga, so you can spend your time in various ways besides playing with cats. I think the cleaning is thorough too. As for the cats themselves, they're calm and laid-back rather than mischievous and active. Some eagerly reach out their paws when you give them the treats sold there, but they're well groomed, so their claws don't hurt. Treats generally cost extra, but sometimes the owner kindly provides them free. I'm grateful for the enjoyable visits. (Cats are living creatures and naturally have humans they like and dislike too, so I question judging the place by whether they become attached to you.)
View on GoogleThe cats are well behaved, and some came up to me on their own. When being fed, they wait with their mouths open, perhaps expecting everyone to get an equal share. The interior is relatively clean and has no smell.
View on GoogleThe cats interact with you, and many were gentle. They're all really cute. But the smell of urine bothered me. The cats get ○, the cafe gets △. It's 500 yen for 30 minutes.
