A valuable spot in Honancho, where there aren't many coffee shops. I had coffee. They use an old-fashioned siphon, and a distinguished older gentleman brewed it for me. I ordered a dark-roast coffee called ジョン, and it was very delicious, with an aftertaste that faded cleanly! Being able to smoke while seated is also a welcome perk for smokers ⭐︎
View on GoogleA community-focused place run by a kind couple. They take time preparing each dish, so I imagine it can be difficult when orders pile up. (This is regarding the other low-rated comments.) ※If you're short on time and patience, heading to a chain restaurant would be wiser. It seems the husband often handles lunchtime and the wife evenings. I've visited both, and lunch is 1100円 with a drink included, so factoring in the atmosphere, it's good value. During the evening bar hours, you're close to the regulars, who are all refined people with good manners, and they happily included me in their conversations from my very first visit! Smoking is allowed at all seats, which is a welcome kindness to smokers these days, but it wasn't constantly smoky; the ventilation was thorough! (I use heated tobacco, so I'm the type who notices smells.)
View on GoogleI visited after reading the reviews, but are they only kind to regulars? They spoke as though they were angry. Their greeting was dismissive. I was shocked by how uncomfortable it felt.
View on GoogleI had the ナボリタン lunch in this clean shop with lots of regulars. Salad, miso soup, nikujaga, and a drink are included for 1,100円. The coffee in particular is very delicious.
View on GoogleIt looks like a Showa-era coffee shop, but it's surprisingly new? and clean. Yet, like a country coffee shop, it offers set meals and alcoholic drinks. Even iced coffee is brewed one cup at a time, so there's a little wait, but the coffee is strong, deep, and delicious. And smoking is allowed. The owner has a somewhat peculiar way of speaking; perhaps he ended up that way after having mismatched conversations with the neighborhood elderly people..
