A waffle set at 香里音, a café open only on Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays that fall on public holidays. I ordered blueberry jam, and my companion ordered matcha anko. When they arrive at the table, their size surprises you for a moment. Apparently the waffles are made without wheat flour, and they are chewy. They go very well with the rich jam and cream. The pandemic started soon after the café opened, and it was CLOSED for a long time, but apparently it has finally reopened on weekends only. The coffee was also the kind I like, and I felt very relaxed. The interior is quite spacious with good natural light, and I will go back for more delicious wheat-flour-free waffles. It is very close to Omiya Hachimangu. It also borders Wadabori Park, and I highly recommend it as a place to stop during a Saturday or Sunday walk. What follows is not a review of the café. As of month 2 of year 23, some riverside sections are inaccessible due to construction on the Zenpukuji River, so if you are coming from the north, it is best not to trust Google Maps. Even where there is a temporary path, the footing is extremely poor, so anyone unsure of their footing might be better off taking a long detour.

The gluten-free waffles have a light texture like a soft-serve ice cream cone or monaka wafer. The tea comes in a pot, which feels like good value. The interior is very nice and clean. The windows were slightly open for ventilation, so the window seats were cold.

Visited around 15:00 on Saturday. The café was about half full. It has a relaxing atmosphere, and I had coffee and waffles. They tasted good, but the wait is really long (about 1 hour until serving). I recommend visiting when you have plenty of time.

I visited after 3 on Saturday. Since it was the weekend, I thought it might be busy? But there was only one other customer besides us. That let us relax, but it is in a residential neighborhood and does not seem likely to attract many customers, so although it is none of my business, I was concerned about how they draw customers. They seem to open only on Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays, so perhaps they are not too worried about that. The iced coffee I ordered was very good, and next time I would like to have it with waffles. The washbasin in the restroom surprised me. A must-see.

A café near Zenpukuji Park that just OPENED in month 1 this year and opens only 3 days a week: Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Freshly baked waffles and coffee were 1000円 as a set. The interior is tasteful throughout and relaxing. Completely non-smoking.
