This is a favorite bistro in Ogikubo that I've visited many times. The quality of lunch is hard to believe for prices starting at 880円, and the regularly changing pasta dishes are all carefully prepared. Whatever you choose is satisfying, from seafood linguine and genovese to squid ink pasta and aigamo duck bolognese. The appetizers, such as pâté de campagne, and the soups are made without cutting corners, offering such excellent value that you wonder, “All this at this price?” I also recommend the lunch course, which lets you thoroughly enjoy meat, fish, and pasta. At dinner, you can savor authentic French bistro dishes such as venison and wild boar game, pig's trotter terrine, and raw oysters, with satisfaction beyond the price. As it's a popular restaurant, lunch is often busy, so allow plenty of time or make a reservation. Sometimes the chef runs everything alone, but it's still a highly capable restaurant that makes you want to return again and again. If you want to casually enjoy an authentic bistro in Ogikubo, I can confidently recommend it.

The two of us shared 2 servings of the lunch menu: appetizer (choose from 3)➕pasta (choose from 2)➕meat dish➕drink! For appetizers, we chose Lyon-style salad and pâté de campagne. I especially liked the pâté de campagne! So meaty and really satisfying. For pasta, we had meitagarei flounder with lemon cream sauce and aigamo duck bolognese. Both were delicious, but the lemon cream sauce was a garlicky cream sauce and absolutely fantastic. We arrived almost at opening time, so we were the first customers and got in without a reservation. Soon afterward, though, people without reservations were being turned away, so booking ahead might be the safest bet!

I visited for lunch on a weekday. Course B, appetizer+meat dish, 1600円 (excluding tax). I chose pâté de campagne for the appetizer. It had the richness of liver without any unpleasant smell. Perhaps it had less lard too, as it was relatively light. The seemingly homemade pickles also complemented it nicely. I wish I could order an extra small plate of just the pickles to have more. The main was sagari with port wine sauce. It was a little sinewy, but the sauce was delicious and the portion generous, so at this price it was more than enough. The after-meal coffee came with a small sweet (meringue with walnuts), making it a very satisfying lunch. Lunch at Natowa by the south exit is also excellent value, but their menu doesn't change much, so I'd choose this place when I want to enjoy different dishes or adjust how much I eat. Apparently reservations are required for 3 or more people, so keep that in mind!

An elegant, good-value pasta lunch course at a tucked-away restaurant while listening to classical music. I recommend the course with an appetizer. A stylish place playing records, about a 5-minute walk from Ogikubo Station. For lunch, you can choose appetizers and pasta from that day's menu, so it seems unlikely to get boring. I ordered the 1,430円 (tax included) set with an appetizer, an after-meal drink, and a small baked sweet. The pâté de campagne I chose as the appetizer was quite thoughtfully made, and for a weekday lunch, very The ingredients clung nicely to the fairly thin, flat pasta, and it was delicious. There were about 4 tables, and all were occupied when I left. You might be lucky if there's a free table. I'd like to go again.

I had something to do nearby and happened to stop in without researching it beforehand, but I was super, super satisfied ☺︎ I had the most affordable lunch set, but what you get at that price is almost unbelievable these days ☺︎ It's in a fairly inconspicuous location and feels like a hidden gem, but it was full at lunchtime. Maybe it's like a neighborhood eatery in the outskirts of Europe that locals frequent, though I've never been. There are posts complaining about this place, but they're probably regulars worried it will get so crowded they won't be able to get in ☺︎
