I visited an eatery near the Bentencho intersection along Gaien Higashi-dori. Gaien Higashi-dori, designated as Ring Road 3, has changed dramatically over these 15 years, and much of the land readjustment around Bentencho has been completed, leaving it more orderly. There are a few shops and drinking places in the Bentencho area untouched by that redevelopment, but I'd never visited any until now. I stopped in for a weekday lunch while working remotely. The menu has plenty of variety. That day, on a whim, I ordered the fried oyster set (990円)! The set comes with a good assortment of sashimi and small side dishes. There are 2 fried oysters, dipped in sauce~ The sashimi is tuna and hamachi, eaten with rice~ Along with boiled shirasu and matsumaezuke too~ That was the nicely balanced lunch I enjoyed. It looks good for evenings too. This isn't an area where I often go drinking, so I thought I'd stop by someday. The No1 lunch spot to visit around here when you haven't had enough fish. You can enjoy healthy, skillfully prepared food in just the right portions. I really like the tuna scraped from the bone? that always comes with lunch. You can sense the attention paid to the rice too. In a different location it would definitely be busy, but it's a bit far from the station and there's nothing much around, so it's nice that it isn't crowded. The female staff member's service is pleasant too.

Found a great neighborhood restaurant!🌞 Visited for dinner. We ordered two dinner sets (¥1,500). I think there were about 8-9 main dishes to choose from. We chose the grilled mackerel set and menchi katsu. The mains were delicious, and there were a few slices of sashimi too. The sides and soup were clean-tasting and nice. Their kindness made the meal even more enjoyable. Highly recommended💕

It's famous for delicious, good-value lunches, but I actually recommend evenings more. All the dishes to accompany drinks, especially the sashimi, are delicious and good value. They make you feel happy. Apparently, they've recently stopped accepting solo diners in the evening. It really is a popular place.
