This place is a delight. It is a hole-in-the-wall bar with kind and patient owners, who make the food and cocktails on the spot. Certain foods can be made vegetarian/vegan if you request it (I recommend the potato cheese galette without bacon). When you arrive, you can engage in conversation with the bartenders and other patrons, and oftentimes the atmosphere is relaxed and easily enjoyable. One time, when asked by other locals about my country, the bartender brought out a geography book with a map and showed them. This is how you know that the bar lives up to its name!

View on GoogleI regret not visiting sooner. Salad with nam pla dressing A must-have 3-item snack platter There are actually 4 items on it, haha Potato cheese galette An everlasting drinking snack Mackerel sandwich A sure bet, recommended every time Aromatic vegetable keema curry An exquisite dish that feels like it could make you younger It's an unusual drinking spot surrounded by lots of books, which they also lend out, but the drink selection is extensive, and the quality and value are better than going to some mediocre bar. It'll really hit the spot if you like light ethnic food! Do go
View on GoogleVisited as a pair. The drinks and food were delicious and reasonably priced, which really impressed us. As the name suggests, there are lots of books, so it seems you could enjoy a relaxing time even alone. The especially delicious dishes were the mentaiko cheese omurice and avocado mixed with cheese. Both were exquisite…! (We wanted to go to a second place, so we didn't order a finishing dish, but next time I'd like to try the onigiri too.) Many people around us were ordering steak. There are lots of regulars, so it may take a little courage to enter, but the staff have a gentle manner too, so working up the courage to visit is a good idea!
View on GoogleA book café bar in Kagurazaka. It's comfortable both day and night. The food's seasoning suits my taste too. It's certainly not heavily seasoned, but it has a savory depth. Of course, the book selection is tasteful, and the balance of conversation is just right.
