Our group of 9 was looking for a yakitori place in a 5 degree weather for dinner/drinks and luckily, we saw this place. We ordered their set/mega set that comes with 3 sticks of yakitori (their best sellers) and a drink of your choice. We don’t know what each yakitori was called but everything was good and pairs well with the lemon sour, highball and plum wine. We also ordered their sashimi, chicken karaage and grilled hokkaido scallops (you can order rice as well). What made our meal so special was the kind and friendly owner who made us feel so welcome. No wonder when we asked if our big group can be seated, the other customers (who seem to be regulars) willingly transferred to another table just to accomodate us, without him even asking. It was unforgettable - the food, the plum wine nost especially, and the overall experience. A gem of a place, indeed.
View on GoogleLove the authentic Izakaya vibes here, one man show kinda business but omg so good, love their chicken skewers especially meat ball, liver and gizzards. Flavorful and juicy. Also the owner is very friendly and talkative. I’m so glad we found this place casually.
View on GoogleWe are visiting from Brisbane (Australia), and this was our first time have Izakaya, and it was fantastic. It’s was a great style of eating, where small dishes were brought out to share. The food was delicious, some of the best chicken I’ve had. What really made it though was the amazing service and atmosphere, we don’t speak any Japanese, however the owner (and another customer who appeared to be a friend) was very accomodating, immediately noticing we didn’t quite know what we were doing. As a result they helped us with our order, while checking to make sure we would enjoy the stuff they suggested. They recommended we get the meal set, and it was great. The best night we could wish for as our first night in Shinjuku. Definitely appeared to be a local hot spot, very lively atmosphere.
View on GoogleGreat local place to eat. The owner was super friendly and the food was amazing. We especially recommend trying the chicken tender skewers, which are basically chicken meatballs, or the fried noodles - so good!!
View on GoogleAs a foreigner I was initially intimidated walking in as it was filled with locals but the owner turned out to speak some English and was super friendly and welcoming and the food and service was amazing! Was so good my wife and I had to make sure to come back a second time. Highly recommend if you want an authentic Japan izakaya experience.
