My second visit to the Yayoi Kusama Museum was just as fascinating as the first. What I loved this time was seeing how the museum rotates its artworks, giving visitors a different experience with every visit. The Infinity Mirror Rooms remain a highlight—my husband couldn’t get enough of the immersive experience and kept admiring the endless reflections. I told him I wished he could have seen Kusama’s iconic pumpkins this time, but it was still a memorable visit. Yayoi Kusama’s art continues to inspire me. Her unique vision, creativity, and ability to transform personal experiences into powerful works of art are truly remarkable. A visit to this museum is more than just seeing artworks; it is stepping into Kusama’s world and experiencing her imagination.

I had a great time but the museum is quite small overall and we got through it relatively quickly. It is somewhat underwhelming in comparison to her grand overseas special exhibitions. It is located in a quiet area so transit there was twice as long as my time spent inside it lol. Overall a fun and educational place but I'd say it's definitely for big fans of her art and not just casual enjoyers.

We visited on a weekday and the art was really interesting to see. The use of bold colours and patterns really captivating my attention. Loved the soda vending machine on the first floor and the winding staircase which transported you to the floors above. You were not allowed to take photos on the 3rd floor if I remember correctly but all other floors are fair game. The lift and toilet were decorated in true Yayoi style featuring the red dots and was fun to be in. It doesn’t take long to enjoy and consume the art as there are a minimal number of pieces across the 5 floors. We finished in 20 mins or so. The staff were polite and helpful. There is a gift shop on the first floor with minimal items for purchase. Highly recommended for those who are a fan.

A fun little museum! Doesn't offer much to see, but worth the price. Giftshop is nice but overpriced. Book your tickets in advance (they don't sell tickets onsite), and don't arrive too early, because you will have to wait and there's nowhere to sit.

Absolutely love Yayoi Kusama, her story and her art. Try expressionist. This museum is gorgeous running across 4 or 5 levels. You are provided with a pair guide that describes each of the pieces of art of display as well as Yayoi story. Must visit when in Tokyo. Pre booking essential.
