If I could give 0 stars, that’s exactly what this shop deserves! They don’t even deserve 1 star!!! We already told the front staff very clearly that my wife and I are non-smokers, yet he still brought us upstairs. The upstairs area has “smoking corners,” but the space is not enclosed at all. Meaning anyone seated upstairs will definitely smell the smoke. It was terrible!! Fine, since we were craving skewers, we decided to just eat quickly. We ate quickly just to get out of that horrible environment. But the worst part happened during payment. The lady cashier quickly told me the bill amount, and without thinking much, I tapped my card. She handed me the card payment slip, but she immediately tore off and threw away the actual meal receipt. Only then I realised the amount didn’t match what I saw on the iPad menu just now. I went back to ask for the receipt and found out they charged us a late-night surcharge (10% after 10pm). When I asked her nicely, she pointed to a paper on the wall showing the surcharge notice. Excuse me, the time wasn’t even 10pm, and you still charged us?? We told her twice before she unwillingly refunded the 10%. And again, she immediately tore up the meal receipt. Since we hadn’t finished checking, we quickly took the receipt out from the dustbin to check again. And guess what? They also charged us a seat fee of ¥390 per person! No one informed us about this at the beginning. How can you charge us without telling us? Are you a scammer??!! If this is a normal seat charge in Japan, why keep tearing up the meal receipts? Feeling guilty or scared we will find out? I’m not sure if locals get charged the same way, but to all tourists — please avoid this shop!!!

Some of the food was excellent but the meal came in a random order and I had to remind one of the waiters that one of the dishes I had ordered for the family had not been given to us. It then took 20mins for the chef to cook it and for it to arrive. We ordered the sesame dumplings but before doing so we asked the waiter while pointing at the picture what was in them, he said pork, they turned out to be sweet potato and when I complained he said it was a translation error and would not swap them or refund the item. In the end I ate them and they were actually delicious though more a sweet than a savoury dish. My main point is that the customer service was zero with no recovery attempted even though he did not know the contents of his own menu. It was a fun and lively atmosphere but be ware that you are in the tourist trap area and will pay over the odds for your meal.

Excellent food at great prices. We love their grilled meat. Everything was tasty and tender. Also have the seafood rice and grilled asparagus. One of the few places that also had great vegetables.

The worst experience in Tokyo ever! Came for yakitori dinner with the family. Food was so so. Cons: They allow smoking inside (yuck!) They force everyone to order a drink even if my kids just wanted water. The charge ¥425 per person for table charge. If you don’t check your bill, you will never know. NEVER AGAIN!

Please avoid this place at all costs as you will notice it because it is located at a very prime corner outlet in middle of Shinjuku! This place allows indoor smoking, so it is not for children to come, definitely. A very very dirty place to have dinner. So much dusts that you will notice it the moment you enter the restaurant and floors are super dirty with food residual everywhere! I am fine with the place allowing diners to smoke indoor while having your food, but i also saw the chefs smoke while BBQing your food as well! Food are overcooked and burnt very badly. Absolutely terrible and embarassing to have brought my friend here for dinner.
