We followed our nose and ended up here! Authentic WOOD charcoal yakiniku with excellent meat selections in regular and large portions includes rice, salad, kim chee, pickled bean sprouts and miso soup. Reasonably priced and excellent quality meats in a great location. Perfect lunch spot after a morning at Gyoen National Park across the street. Will return!

The Yakiniku meat was delicious and flavorful, with the charcoal grilling adding a delightful smokiness. The sauce complemented the meat perfectly, and service was impressively fast. However, the staff’s attitude left much to be desired, and additional customer service training is recommended. We arrived at 3:30 PM and were informed that the lunch cutoff had just ended. This meant we had to order from the pricier dinner menu and were required to purchase at least one drink per person. Tip: If you’re visiting, aim to arrive before 3:30 PM to enjoy the more affordable lunch menu.

The more delicious the food is eaten with beer, the more delicious it is. The restaurant is a black building with 3 floors. The staff is hospitable, polite, friendly, good service, try to communicate until we understand. (It is recommended that you come and try it.)

The restaurant is on the pricey side, but I think it's worthy. We ordered a combo of beef, and all of them are soft and tender. If you don't overcook it, it will be juicy as well. Put some diced onion, korean gojejung sauce, and wrap it with lettuce leaf, yum yum yum. This restaurant uses charcoal gill, and it makes a huge difference than gas stove or electric stove. The charcoal gill gives a charcoal flavor, and the heat is flickering rather than strong constant heat, which will burn the meat easy. The meat is not the North American steak style 8oz. It is much smaller pieces but very flavorful that you need to chew it for enjoy it's texture. The highlight of the night is the thick cut ox tongue 👅. It is a bit more crunchy than other cuts of beef. The beef flavor is richer as well. Don't overcook it, please! As much as $2300 yen for 2 pieces (very expensive), it is ok to eat it once a lifetime. Worth it. To finish the dinner, I chose the Korean cold noodle. I am a genius! The noodles and soup are tangy with cucumber and cut chicken. It is very soothing and refreshing after a meaty, heavy hot meal. I added some korean ginger in it to make it a bit more sour, and it washed down the oilyness from the meat in my throat. It is a very good choice. After I ordered, I wonder if it is enough for 4 of us. But it turned out that it is a good portion.

One of the longest standing yakiniku restaurants in Shinjuku having over 60 years of history. The restaurant is quite small, only a few tables so expect long waiting time. 😗 Reasonable priced lunch set with good quality of beef grilling over a small hibachi. English menu and English speaking staff was available on my visit. You can mix their spicy sauce to the yakiniku sauce together for a more complexity and boldness dipping sauce. 😋
