Incredible! Marvelous! Really REALLY delicious eel! Super authentic atmosphere and the staff were very friendly and helpful! I happened to go during an off time so there were seats available, but it can get very busy so reservations are recommended. However you CAN get lucky if you go early to find a table. Its really small so tables fill fast. But highly recommend! I had the Kansai eel meal, the regular size with a medium rice and it was almost too much for me to eat! They give you lots of food! The difference between Kansai and Katou is that one is crispy and one is soft and fluffy. The Kansai style I had was crispy and delicious! Though I imagine the fluffy one is just as good, so I think I'll try that the next time I come!
View on GoogleThe unagi here is the best. I had the Kansai style shirayaki (white) unagi, it is so fresh and tasty, the outside is a little crispy and full of flavor, the inside is juicy and tender. It is a small place but the taste of their unagi is unbeatable. Staff is super friendly, this place is small so reservation ahead of time is better
View on GoogleThis was one of the most interesting culinary experiences I've ever had. A small restaurant specializing in eel dishes. And it's the eel that takes center stage. Each dish delivers a different flavor experience. I recommend it to anyone looking for something extraordinary yet simple.
View on GoogleThis restaurant specializes in eel dishes. This restaurant serves eel cooked in Kansai style, which is rare in Tokyo. Of course, you can also choose the Kanto style cooking method, so you can order the way you like depending on your mood that day. ✨ Generally speaking, Kansai-style eel is grilled without steaming, so the surface is crispy, and the seasoning is rich and hearty, so it is recommended for those who want to eat a hearty meal. The restaurant's Kansai-style eel stew has a mildly sweet sauce, so even those with small appetites can enjoy it to the end. Even if you feel the taste is too heavy, you can try to eat it again by adding aromatic pepper and pickles on the table to reset the taste in your mouth. In addition to eel stew, the restaurant offers a variety of a la carte dishes using eel, which some customers come to enjoy with drinks.🍺🍶 One thing to note is that the eel is cooked to order, so it goes without saying that it takes some time before it is ready. If you don't like to wait, you can tell them what you want to eat when you make a reservation so that you don't have to wait.👍
View on Googleeel bowl is definitely one of the things that i must eat in every trip to japan. i found this restaurant through tabelog top 100 unagi shop and the location was quite easy for me. i book it through online already so i didn't have to wait outdoor under the bright hot sun. i picked the big bowl of eel rice in eastern japan style and an addition liver skewer. food was very nice. the eel bowl was full of nicely charcoal grilled eel on top, all its oil and sauce got down to the rice. it's so rich on every bite. however i had an abnormal long wait for the bowl. seeing all other people had their bowls (i ordered before them) but mine still waiting, i think i had waited for 40mins. since the staff couldn't speak much english so i didn't ask and just waited patiently.
