Fantastic place! After seeing super long lines at every other tsukemen place on Google, we found this gem tucked away with surprisingly no crowd at all. Amazing tsukemen (=cold noodles dipped in warm broth) in a classy joint. The shop owner was incredibly helpful and polite with getting us set up. No English menu, but it's a vending machine pay system with either soy/miso broth, spicy/nonspicy - so not complicated. Definitely recommend!

Good tsukemen. Equally good as other famous tsukemen nearby but without the long wait. It was featured in tv program, News Every.

I visited the Nishi-Shinjuku branch of つけめん酒処達翁‼︎ It’s on the first basement floor, and after going down the stairs there’s an eye-catching noren‼︎ They have counter and table seats‼︎ The menu offers つけ麺 and 皿うどん🤔 This time I chose 味噌つけ麺‼︎ The price stays the same up to a large portion, but for an extra 100円 you can get an extra-large portion😆 I challenged myself to the extra-large😁🔥 ※Scallions and fish powder can be added freely!

I ordered 辛つけめん700円 with 「increased protein」 and got complimentary チャーシュー and 味玉, with roughly 1 normal serving of noodles. What a good deal. The チャーシュー was about 7-8mm thick and quite large, tender and falling apart. The 味玉 was half a soft-boiled egg. The broth was silky-thick without being sludgy, with some sweetness, lots of scallions, and diced チャーシュー. The heat wasn’t particularly strong. Unlimited fish powder and minced raw onion toppings were nice, too. The elderly owner (so capable that calling him that almost feels rude) was very kind, and the broth for diluting the soup was piping hot with an added yuzu aroma, so good I wanted to have just the soup. Thank you for the meal.

It’s what you’d call seafood-based つけ麺, but the broth is thin rather than thick. It’s relatively tangy, and the smooth noodles go down easily, making it effortless to eat. You can add free onion toppings at your seat; I recommend adding plenty to enjoy the crunch. It also seems good as a finishing meal after drinking. Apparently it becomes a drinking spot at night, and I’d like to visit it in that role, too.
