Time of visit: September 2023 Exquisite tonkatsu without the weight 👍 Tonkatsu Hinata in Tokyo delivers thick-cut tonkatsu that stays juicy, clean, and never greasy, even with a perfect pink center. The fillet and rib loin both stand out for their tenderness and balance, supported by a thin, crisp coating that keeps everything light rather than heavy. It is rare to find this level of control across texture, portion, and price, and it easily stands above other tonkatsu places I have tried. Combined with a calm, well-run space and consistently polite service, it is a place I would return to without hesitation.
View on GoogleCame here for lunch in early Feb 2026, and it was amazing. Probably one of the best Tonkatsu I’ve had in my life. It’s a fuss free shop, so you eat and you go. Food is simple yet so delicious. Rice was perfectly cooked and cabbage was sweet and crunchy. Would come back again next time I’m in Tokyo!
View on GoogleThis is the best Tonkatsu I’ve ever eaten in my life, both in and outside of Japan. Ordered the “choicest” tender loin, so good. The place is cozy, not big. The service was quick and kind, we only had to wait for about 10 minutes. I’d 100% recommend!
View on GoogleIncredible food and amazing setting, the pork is juicy on the inside while remaining crispy on the outside. The olive oil also adds so much to the flavor of the dish.
View on GoogleTonkatsu Hinata easily serves the best tonkatsu I’ve ever had. The pork was cooked perfectly, and the meat and fat literally melted in my mouth with every bite. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients. The rice and cabbage refills were a nice bonus and paired perfectly with the tonkatsu. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere that gives you an authentic Japanese dining experience. There was a bit of a wait before we got in, but the line moved at a reasonable pace and was absolutely worth it. If you’re a tonkatsu lover, this place is a must-visit. I’d happily line up again the next time I’m in Tokyo!
