Tonchikan was a welcome sight for hungry eyes as I had spent the last hour or two exploring the Shibuya area. The wait was just under ten minutes but the staff got me seated quickly as this was during the lunchtime rush. I gotta say that tonkatsu has become one of my top three foods in Japan. The cutlet was fried perfectly and the cut of pork was pretty good. By the time I was finished with my meal my stomach was pretty full.

Love this traditional old styled shop! Truly one of the most satisfying tonkatsu meals in Tokyo. The pork miso soup itself is good enough as a meal with rice and I’m no means a soup person! Reasonable prices on top of that, go early and be prepared to queue

Incredible hole in the wall katsu spot! We got there around 11:45 on a weekday and waited for maybe 5 minutes - the service was very quick and moved really fast. The pork tenderloin katsu was unreal. Great portion size and great value. The vibes were awesome as well - filled with locals on their lunch breaks! Highly highly recommend stopping by!

Relaxing experience. Came for dinner amd had the Tonkatsu dinner. The soup was delicious with radish. The meal itself was generous in portions and the pork cutlet was ample. There are sauces at the table, available to add to your meal. Sat by the windows, and had a lovely breeze to accompany the gentle, yet up beat music playing in the background.

This restaurant was really a gem!!! The staff couldn’t speak English but they tried to serve me as much as they could. 🥺💖 The cutlet was reaaaaaally tasty. Every part of this meal was delicious, even the cabbages were surprisingly good!! 👍⭐️ We have to share the sauces and mustard with other guests. We need to be careful not to make it dirty for others.
