I came across this place in my search for ginger pork (生姜焼き) and knew I wanted to try it. Be prepared to wait, especially at lunch time. The pork is not served in a traditional sense, as they use a loin and not thin slices. It was a very tasty version and I’d recommend anyone to try it. The oysters also seem to be a popular dish here, so I’ll go back to try it. The service was fast and friendly.

Dropped by Katsuretsu Yotsuya Takeda (かつれつ 四谷たけだ) for dinner and ordered the famous Butter-Sautéed Scallop Set ,adding a piece of tonkatsu (fried pork cutlet) on the side. The Breakdown: Butter-Sautéed Scallops: 👍 Delicious. The scallops were perfectly cooked, rich, savory, and lived up to the hype. A must-try dish. Tonkatsu (Fried Pork Cutlet): 😐 Average. While this is a "katsuretsu" (cutlet) restaurant, the extra piece of pork cutlet was nothing special and quite ordinary in flavor.

Quite simply awesome. There’s a queue, but I came 15mins before opening on a weekday and slipped into the first round. They are famous for their “oyster butter” (although they’ve recently run a limited edition “scallop butter” in spring), and does it live up to the hype. Big, plump, and generous, with bacon to mop up the sauce. It was the heartiest thing I ate all trip. The fried oysters were good as well, but not transcendent like the pan fried ones. Worth a special trip in oyster season.

The カキバーター焼 was really good. The fried oysters were also good. You can add a little curry to your rice for ¥150. However the shop is really small, so I had to wait for almost an hour on a Wednesday evening. It was worth it to go once. If I were to go again, I’d probably go by myself so I can sit at the counter.

The butter seared oysters were absolutely incredible. We also ordered a chicken cutlets curry dish, which was a delight as well. Overall this place is definitely worth the hype.
