I always used to walk straight past, but at 12:30 on a weekday there were only 2 people at the counter, and since I like shogayaki, I went in. There's only counter seating, but somehow the interior feels relaxing. Once you're seated, it's hard for people to pass behind you, but it's nice how customers call out to each other to make room. The dad does the cooking, and the mom gets the rice ready. All the little side dishes are delicious and make you want more rice. The shogayaki I came for was delicious too, and at this price!! I was truly surprised it was 750円. I'm curious about the other dishes too, so from next time I'll start coming regularly. Thank you for the meal.

It's an old-fashioned Chinese restaurant. After walking 10 minutes from Takadanobaba Station, I couldn't find a café and was at a loss. I've eaten here 2 times. It has only counter seating and is truly tiny in a good way; when a customer at the back heads for the exit, everyone has to stand up so they can get through. The first time I had ramen & half a portion of chahan for 850円. The second time I had the liver and vegetable stir-fry set for 750円. The liver and vegetable stir-fry set was more generous than I expected, and I left some rice. With prices rising these days, I worry whether they can really manage at these prices. As for the taste, it was a little salty. But I was very satisfied.

Drawn by the pure white noren curtain, I dropped in. This counter-only neighborhood Chinese restaurant has a strong Showa feel and a nostalgic atmosphere. It's well cleaned, and you can sense the pride of the sharp elderly owner. The lightly seasoned tanmen was just right with black pepper and paired well with the slightly salty half portion of chahan. Even though it was a dinner set, it cost just 750円, which made me worry whether that was really enough. Next time I'd like to try another dish too.

It's on Waseda-dori heading from Takadanobaba toward Otakibashi-dori, closer to Otakibashi. I'd had my eye on this place for a while. The white noren curtain is distinctive. The entrance is a wooden sliding door. It has atmosphere. I ordered chukadon. It's full of ingredients and topped with an omelet. It seems to be run by an elderly couple. The kitchen was clean. Apparently you can also order half a portion of chahan, so next time I plan to order ramen with half a portion of chahan.

I ordered ramen (with half a portion of chahan). The broth is made from chicken bones and vegetables. It has sweetness but is a little lightly flavored. The noodles are slightly curly, like cup noodles. The toppings are chashu, menma, bean sprouts, and green onions. The portion is on the small side. With half a portion of chahan, it's satisfying. The light flavor is even more noticeable because of the bean sprouts. The chashu is cold too, so the slices stick together and won't separate unless you soak them in the broth. The lady running the place could become its signature character.
