This is once of the places I was looking most forward for while visiting Japan. They had a great variety of items to buy in the store area and the food service was wonderful! I was surprised to see only one server, but he was doing a fantastic job helping everyone get their orders quickly and made the coaster gacha system fun. The food was not only super cute, but it tasted good as well! My two favorites with the Full Metal Alchemist themed buns. They were served at the perfect temperature and the custard bun was so creamy! While I think it would be neat to see more FMA merch, I am very happy with my overall experience and will need to go again.

I’m pleasantly surprised with this one! Food is usually mid at collab cafes, but this one was surprisingly good! I got the final fantasy chocobo and moogle curry and it was pretty tasty. You get a drink sleeve, a random coaster with every food item, and a placemat from the IP of your choosing (FF, DQ, fullmetal alchemist or nier), which is a piece of paper that you can laminate for 200 yen. The staff was SUPER nice, they exchanged my drink order with no problem whatsoever when I marked my drink order wrong. The only complaint I have is the theming, or rather lack thereof… I get that they have to accommodate for 4 different series but I’m still kind of bummed lol. It’s pricey, but it’s a given for a collab cafe. Other than that it was a very pleasant experience and I got to do some good ol’ oshikatsu ☺️

Had a great time here! We stopped by for dessert and were lucky enough to get a table despite not having a reservation. There’s a small merchandise area at the entrance, and we got to choose a themed placemat to have laminated as a souvenir. The Chocobo parfait was delicious, and the decorations were almost too cute to eat. Both the drinks and desserts came with themed coasters, which was a nice touch.

What a disappointment, especially after the Eorzea Cafe (Both Akihabara and Osaka ones) ! The food is good (because it's pasela cafe affiliated), but the prices are really over the top for the experience you have: zero immersion effort is put in the café, beside the themed dishes. By eating there you can get pretty tablesets, which are unlaminated and they make you pay (and do it yourself!!!) 200yen per tableset to laminate them. I think they should offer it laminated already. If you like (even just a bit) final fantasy, don't fall for this trap and head to Akihabara final fantasy 14 Eorzea Cafe, the ambiance is amazing, the dishes are better for the same price (even slightly lower). Note : the staff was nice, nothing wrong with them. Just blaming the direction.

I was excited to try this following previous visits to the SQEX cafe in Akihabara in 2017 and 2019 - I was disappointed this had shut down so really happy to find the cafe had opened in Shinjuku just before my visit to Tokyo this year! The shop had a limited selection of stuff but different things to other SQEX shops in the city so worth a visit. This new Shinjuku cafe is worth a visit for food theming but a bit disappointing overall. The theming of the cafe was almost non existent, some game music and then some adverts on TVs, but no memorabilia, no figures etc on the walls. Rather than theming for a particular game or franchise like the old cafe did. and going all out, it’s pretty neutral to account for different things. Food theming was pretty good but for actual food quality was hit and miss. The final fantasy curry looked cute but was 2200 yen for a plate of curry sauce and rice (that really was it…). The parfait however was pretty good and my husband’s dragon quest themed fried chicken and chips was pleasant enough. You get to pick a placemat (or rather, the theme of a placemat) as part of your cover charge then get a coaster for every thing you order. I guess this is an important thing for most people - the coasters will match the theme of what drink or food you’ve ordered. Overall worth a visit for drinks and food theming but don’t expect amazing quality.
