A Spanish street-corner-style bar on the 3rd floor of a building directly connected to Shinjuku-sanchome Station. Apparently the shop prides itself on seafood dishes made by a chef who knows the authentic taste. This time we had: ◯Assorted platter of 8 appetizers Autumn salmon mousse and smoked scallop, zucchini/ikura, two-color parfait of today's tuna and mascarpone, red sea bream carpaccio with karasumi sauce /octopus carpaccio/smoked duck with mustard sauce/citrus-scented marinated salmon/mushroom and olive pâté/Spanish jamón cream croquette ◯Homemade tuna and harissa pintxos ◯The bar's shrimp mayo ◯Seared firefly squid and rich black paella with 2 sauces, topped with karasumi ◯Dessert Catalana with plenty of rum/pumpkin gelato with rum raisins The 8-appetizer platter is gorgeous just to look at! The big plate, arranged with lovely colors and balance, gets you excited the moment it's served. The shrimp mayo is freshly fried, crispy and plump, with a hint of cilantro. Irresistible for cilantro lovers. The homemade tuna in the pintxos is way too good too! The main paella is packed with squid umami! Squid ink paella is my favorite of all paellas. The ink is rich and the rice is on the softer side, close to what I had in Spain. Delicious. The two desserts were also not too sweet, and the rum raisin gave them a grown-up flavor — delicious. On weekends they're open from noon, and it's not that crowded, so it might be a hidden gem. Recommended! Thank you for the meal! I'll come again!

Shop name: Spain Gyokai Bar Shinjuku Sanchome ・A Spanish seafood bar directly connected to Shinjuku-sanchome Station where you can enjoy authentic Spanish cuisine ・You can savor a variety of seafood dishes and Spanish natural wines 【What I ordered】 ・Fresh fig, butter, and chèvre cheese pintxos 4P ¥1,280 ・Assorted appetizers, 8 items ¥3,800 Scallop, shrimp, and corn mousse, zucchini Luxurious all-uni dip Carpaccio of today's specially selected fish Octopus carpaccio Smoked duck and paprika Citrus-scented marinated salmon Mushroom and olive pâté Spanish jamón cream croquette ・MIX ajillo ¥2,280 ・Truffle-scented Iberico pork and porcini paella, S size ¥3,380 ・Rum catalana ¥880 ・Melon and mascarpone gelato ¥880 Drinks ・Galicia, red wine etc. ☆A few thoughts☆ This time I went to a Spanish seafood bar directly connected to Shinjuku-sanchome Station where you can enjoy authentic Spanish cuisine. You can enjoy dishes made with seafood shipped straight from the source along with carefully selected wines. The lineup is all authentic dishes prepared by a chef who knows the real taste. That day I ordered mainly from the recommended menu. Let's get right into the report! ・Pintxos The natural sweetness of fig with the rich depth of butter and chèvre cheese. Add the spiciness of black pepper, and the balance of flavors is exquisite. A grown-up, bite-sized pintxo that makes you want to pair it with wine. ・Assorted appetizers, 8 items Order this and you can't go wrong. Carpaccio and marinades made with super-fresh seafood, a luxurious uni dip, a novel cream croquette with Spanish jamón, and more — it's packed with surprises and deliciousness. One plate lets you enjoy a wide variety of flavors. ・MIX ajillo A luxurious ajillo loaded with shrimp, octopus, extra-large scallops, pancetta, and mushrooms. The aroma rising from the piping hot oil whets your appetite. Superb as is, and of course on baguette too. ・Paella I was torn over the classic seafood, but this time I chose the Iberico pork I'd been curious about. The acorn-fed Iberico pork is tender, with plenty of sweetness and umami in the fat. Juicy, deep in flavor, and very satisfying. ・Rum catalana A rich catalana for grown-ups with a soft waft of rum. The surface is fragrantly caramelized, and the inside melts in your mouth. The raisins as an accent leave a nice finish. ・Melon and mascarpone gelato The very sweet melon and the creamy, lightly sweet mascarpone are a perfect match. The refreshing, clean aftertaste is lovely. With Spanish natural wine in hand, you can casually enjoy a variety of dishes. The appeal is a lineup that satisfies not only seafood lovers but also people who aren't fond of seafood. In a great location directly connected to the station, the interior full of the warmth of wood feels just like a bar on a Spanish street corner. There are box seats, sofa seats, and terrace seats too, and being able to casually drop in is another nice point.

It's great that you can eat authentic Spanish food in Shinjuku. The great-value appetizer platter is 8 items for 3,500 yen — super cheap. It's amazing that you can eat so many lavish dishes. Everything tastes authentic, and the sea bream carpaccio in particular was superb. ♦︎The tender braised octopus is so soft it cuts instantly. The flavor is solid too, and it pairs perfectly with beer. The paella, a Spanish classic, is loaded with seafood and very hearty, and the rice that has soaked up all the seafood umami is the best. It's a little away from Shinjuku so it's calm, the atmosphere is nice, and it's a lovely place where you can feel authentic Spain. If you want Spanish food in Shinjuku, this is the only choice. It was a cozy space that makes you want to go even alone.
