Came here for lunch today and got the Ebi ten soba for ¥1,300. I was served hot tea as soon as I sat down and got my noodles pretty quick as well. The noodles were great. This might be a con for some people, but I like the unevenness of noodles. Didn’t really enjoy my tempura shrimp though. They definitely missed the mark on the batter. I think their oil temperature might have been too low because the crust was quite oily and not as crisp as it could have been. There was a server that was coughing in the back, thankfully after I got my food, for like a minute. It kind of made it uncomfortable to continue my meal, especially during a pandemic, but I take comfort that she probably just had dry throat and was not an irresponsible person who went to work knowing that she’s sick... Anyway, I might give this place another go but I don’t plan on getting the tempura again and definitely not until the vaccine becomes available in Japan. One close call was enough to instill some bit of fear in me.
View on GoogleIt was pretty occupied when I entered the restaurant. I ordered fried eggplant tsukemen and it was okay. I was disappointed by one of the staff’s attitude.
View on GoogleVery nice. I had kamoseiro, which was 1,300 yen When I visited this place for dinner, it was crowded. All seat were occupied. There three staffs in this soba shop, but they looked so busy that they cannot respond the request from customers. Only one elder man has managed the kitchen and it might be a difficult to deal with the some request simultaneously. Taste was nice, and I love sobayu.
View on GoogleYou can enjoy very thin yet fragrant soba at an unpretentious price (under 1000 yen). Besides the owner's skill at making soba, the individual dishes are also very delicious. My personal recommendation is karami seiro, but the warm dipping soba with fried eggplant and shrimp also makes a great accompaniment to drinks. The lady running the restaurant is extremely knowledgeable about alcohol and can teach you all sorts of things about sake and wine. Due to health issues, they seem to have had some irregular closures recently. It's the kind of place you want to keep visiting, and I hope they stay healthy and keep it going for many years.
View on GoogleIt was full when I went on Sunday at lunchtime. Luckily I got in quickly, and my tempura soba arrived without much of a wait. The soba was thin, springy, and went down smoothly. Rather than having a strong buckwheat aroma, it had a light, Sarashina-style flavor. I don't like strongly buckwheat-flavored, crumbly soba, so it suited my taste. The tempura was small and crisp, and the broth was low on sweetness with a sharper, salty flavor.
