元祖麻婆豆腐Sichuan Cuisine Original Mapo Tofu Shinjuku
新宿店」 is a 3-minute walk from the west exit of JR新宿駅, ground-level exit 7. This tucked-away Chinese izakaya in the Shinjuku west exit area offers approachable, authentic Chinese cuisine using genuine Sichuan spices. It suits everything from a solo drink after work to various banquets. Its signature 『麻婆豆腐』 uses over a dozen spices, including ピーシェン豆板醤, 麻椒, and chili peppers sourced from Sichuan. The richness of premium aged 豆板醤 and the numbing heat of 麻椒 bring out authentic flavors. Firm tofu and homemade seasoned meat paste are slowly simmered into a satisfying dish. Alongside ジャンボ餃子, there is a wide selection of authentic Sichuan and Chinese dishes. All-you-can-eat and all-you-can-drink courses are also available, accommodating small parties through large groups…

(Recorded on August 2, 2025) During lunchtime, this generous restaurant offers all-you-can-eat pickles, boiled dumplings, and seasoned eggs. You can choose the spiciness level of the mapo tofu and knife-cut noodles from six stages, but even the mildest option was still pretty spicy.

View on GoogleIt is just very delicious! Every dish is delicate even it is typical Chinese food. Owner is Mainland chinese, good service and caring mama .. I will definitely come back
View on GoogleWe had the all-you-can-eat and all-you-can-drink course. Overall, the food was delicious and satisfying, but my friend's mouth got hot from the spices, and partway through wanted something sweet. When they tried to order 杏仁豆腐, they were told, “No.” Since it was all-you-can-eat, shouldn't we be able to eat whatever we want whenever we want? The reason for refusing was a mystery. We were also told in a stern tone, “We will charge extra if you leave food.” We already knew that, and we had not ordered a ridiculously large number of dishes that we could not finish. It was disappointing to experience things like that at a restaurant with such tasty food. I visit Chengdu and Ya'an in China's Sichuan Province 3 times a year, and Chinese people's service in mainland China is more polite and kinder.
