Saw them on an NHK special about Japanese curry and made sure to visit during my last trip to Shinjuku. Famous for their Showa era Indian style curry and relationship to Rash Behari Bose. Have to say really enjoyed the traditional style chicken curry and sauce with rice. Service was also friendly and menus easy to navigate. It’s a bit hard to find if you are just passing by looking for somewhere to eat, I missed it initially but backtracked and found the lift to the B2 floor (it’s next to a Coach store for reference). Will visit again.
View on GoogleThe most delicious curry i've ever had, fantastic atmosphere, nice and kind service. My elder family members loved this restaurant decades ago, nothing changed, so respectful for this. Absolutely recommend!😊🥘
View on GoogleI was searching the historical line of introduction of "curry" to Japanese by Rashbihari Bose..Well received by the Nakamuraya Manna staff, had a beautiful evening dinner with chicken curry with rice, salads, pickles and mango juice as a dessert. I recommend all who visit Japan here, especially Indian tourists.. Though the restaurant is now owned and run by Japanese, they beautifully kept the historical story with photographs and narrations.
View on GoogleAmazing surprised. Were just walking by and saw it while we were hungry. Suprised there was a 15 min waiting time. Food was not disappointing. Curry was suppopper good best i had on a global basses. Meat qulity as good and even coffee. All seeved using nice silverware.
View on GoogleThe food was very different then typical Japanese curry. The flavours has gotten close to Bengal curry flavour with Japanese restraint on spice level. It has created a blend of favour not overpowering as seen in south Asian curry. Great experience and would recommend to any one who wants to tiptoe into south asian flavours. The tea was excuisite with the right consistency and flavour.
