Had a great time! My son and I booked he family excursion. 2 hours. First hour samurai training. We so much fun for us! Nico was a great instructor and did great job get photos and videos for us. It was a nice workout. Second have museum tour . Our guide was TP he was also wonderful. Did some Ninja Star throwing activity. Great way to learn some stuff and give your children an active that might lead to wanting to learn more about history. Oh if you are also doing the Stamp Quest app. They have a bunch of stamps there. So bring your stamp books too!

This was a fun tour that is definitely directed towards tourists. It was informative, engaging, and a good amount of fun for about an hour. Zion was a superb tour guide and made the tour even more enjoyable. You get to check out some armor, weapons, and learn about the history and hierarchy of samurai. Nothing too crazy, but you also get to dress up and throw fake shurikens in a competition. After a few days in a whole new world as a tourist, this was a breath of fresh air that grounded us a bit. I recommend it if you’re visiting Tokyo! The only downside is that the graphics appeared to utilize AI for movement and upscaling, but otherwise everything was great for 3300 yen.

We were warmly welcomed, the staff members were consistently friendly throughout and accommodating. From the outset, we were given a top-level overview of the history of Japan and, by extension, the history of the samurai. It was accessible and clearly structured, making it easy to follow, particularly for visitors who may not be familiar with the subject. There were enjoyable opportunities to engage directly with samurai suits of armour and a range of weapons, including those associated with the ninja. Being able to see these items up close and, in some cases, handle replicas added an interactive element that many tourists will appreciate. It certainly makes the experience more memorable than simply walking past display cases. That said, I did find parts of the experience somewhat superficial. It is clearly designed with foreign audiences in mind, which makes it approachable, but it also means the depth is limited. I was hoping for a richer and more nuanced exploration of the samurai era, particularly its philosophical and spiritual dimensions, which felt largely absent. At times, the presentation also felt slightly confused in its structure. Overall, it is a good choice for those seeking a clear and accessible introduction, especially tourists wanting a concise overview. However, for visitors looking for a deeper and more layered understanding of the samurai period, this may not be the most satisfying option.

Very fun and informative. I did get lost, but that was because there was a different museum at the top of search results. Once we arrived, the staff was lovely, the guide entertaining, and the shuriken throwing very fun (and I'm not just saying that because I came first :p). Would recommend to any otaku or Japanese history fan.

We had such a wonderful experience. Our tour guide, Take, did an amazing job explaining the history and making the tour both informative and entertaining. His English was excellent, and he was incredibly kind, funny, and engaging throughout the entire experience. I especially appreciated that he gave us time at each station to take pictures and really enjoy the exhibits without feeling rushed. The museum itself is very interactive, which made learning about samurai history even more enjoyable. Overall, this was a fantastic experience. I would definitely recommend the Samurai Museum to anyone visiting Japan! 🥷🇯🇵
