Visited on the morning of March 21, 2026 A coffee shop in front of Peacock along Mejiro-dori, west of Mejiro Station. That day, I walked from Mejiro Station to visit Mejiro Garden and Mejiro Forest before coming here. In the very bright and retro shop, I sat at a table on the left and enjoyed a grilled sandwich and coffee. Since smoking is allowed inside, I had a relaxing smoke. On the right side of the entrance, there are counter seats where regular customers visited one after another to chat with the master. When I asked the master, he said he has been running the shop for about 40 years since he took it over, and it seems the shop was built when Peacock was built.

A very quiet shop with soft background music playing. Stays are limited to 90 minutes.

I hate cigarettes but accidentally entered a smoking shop. The owner's wonderful talk is the background music. The owner says to a regular, 'Graduating from Keio is no big deal. If it were Todai science/math, that would be amazing. Well, I failed to get into Keio though.' Like, 'You failed?!' The rest is local gossip. They talk about those things endlessly. In short, the impression is 'a shop where the owner enjoys himself with regulars.' People who can enjoy it or smokers will rate it highly, while those who can't enjoy it or don't smoke will rate it low. As for the taste, the coffee and food are cheap and delicious. Since there are few customers, it might be a comfortable place for smokers.

A good, old-fashioned, community-based coffee shop where the master's friends gather. Just listening to old friends happily talking about politics, society, music, etc., while puffing on cigarettes is soothing. Iced coffee is served in large portions, so if you don't watch your smoking pace, you'll end up smoking many cigarettes. However, sometimes there are female customers who show anti-smoking gestures, so it's best to think you were just unlucky that day.

In Mejiro, the only coffee shops where you can purely sit and smoke are Daphne in front of the station or here. You can relax. No Wi-Fi or power outlets. It's not hard to enter even if you're alone. The staff is kind.
