Nestled within Shinjuku’s ramen battleground is an unassuming ramen shop called クマちゃん. Its cheap toppings and slightly overcooked noodles are forgiven by a simple, yet addictive shoyu soup coupled with a symphony of doner kebab style thinly sliced pork pieces. Free rice and toppings too. I wouldn’t say it was my favourite, but certainly it had its own charm and was a refreshing break from all the other ramen shops around it with, sometimes, too much flair. 3 stars, but in my mind, a solid 3 stars. If the noodles were just a bit more al dente and the egg wasn’t so shamefully overcooked, I may have bumped it up to 4.
View on GoogleGreat place to come if you're hungry. The bowls are ridiculously huge as you can see in the photo that I took! I couldn't even finish it all! The meat is so delicious and the noodles are cooked perfectly. They give you plenty of options to change the flavor with spicy sauce and garlic. If you buy the large size you can probably share with two people.
View on GoogleAs per taste, not beyond or above my expectations but it may be a bit costly.
View on GoogleOk food. Slow and bad service. The water dispenser didn't have water.
View on GoogleThe soups was good and can eat rice for free. Rarely to eat free rice with ramen in tokyo recently
