We visited this stall purely out of curiosity; what would a 10-yen sushi in the heart of Shinjuku actually taste like? Our expectations were admittedly low. We left genuinely impressed. To order the 10-yen sushi, you’re required to purchase a drink. For Muslim visitors, soft drinks and oolong tea are available options. There are no hidden fees, but do keep an eye on the prices of the other sushi options if you’re trying to keep your spending in check. Beyond the 10-yen sushi, they also offer toppings such as fatty tuna, salmon, ebi, and tamago. What we had was simply amazing. It didn’t taste like a cheap meal at all. The fish was fresh and well prepared, with none of the unpleasant fishy smell some budget sushi can have. The sushi chef also thoughtfully asked whether we wanted wasabi included. Our order came with a small bowl of vegetables as a mandatory ¥350 appetizer, which was surprisingly enjoyable as well. The stall itself is tiny, so expect a queue. It’s clearly designed for a quick recharge rather than a long dining session, meaning you’ll be enjoying your sushi while standing. Honestly, that only added to the charm of what was already a great meal.
View on GoogleTheir daily special sushi is the best thing 10 yen can buy! Some notes before you avail the daily special sushi: - required to buy a drink (they have non-alcoholic options) - required to buy their appetizer (no choices offered) - max of 15 sushi pieces per person - no chairs offered, wall table is around 3-4 feet high I got the maximum 15 pieces and the total of everything was 830 yen. The sushi were decent. Definitely unbeatable deal.
View on GoogleAhhh how should I put this - I wish I could gate-keep this place ‘cuz it is such a vibe! The restaurant was a hole in the wall, very small with no chairs HAHA (all customers were standing while eating) but we loved it :) There was a 330yen seating charge and we had to order a drink to enjoy the 10yen sushi of the day. The salmon 🍣 was thick and fresh with such a nice bouncy texture; their appetiser was another kind of raw fish which was VERY DELICIOUS too. Highly recommend this lowkey place ✨🫶🏻
View on GoogleCheap sushi! Nice quick snack! 10 yen special sushi up to 15 pieces for whatever the special is that day. But there’s a seating fee and a drink that you must purchase so at best those two would probably add to around 700 yen. Still good! It tasted good. Really small place and you gotta stay standing.
View on GoogleWe visited on our last day in Tokyo and had a great experience. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the sushi was good and very well priced. The promotion is real, although there are a few conditions to meet. Even so, it still offers excellent value and is definitely worth it.
