Stumbled upon this hidden gem, being one of the few local Japanese restaurants remaining. The entire menu is in Japanese and the locals are helpful and friendly. We ordered the tempura set menu which came with sashimi plus an added on side dish of tofu. Tasty and good value for the price. Some of the best rice I have eaten in a long time!
View on GoogleWe are staying at a local Airbnb and went to this restaurant through google maps recommendation. Very pleasantly surprised. We were given a private room and the service was amazing. The waitress took the extra initiative to explain every dish in detail even though we had a language barrier. The food was delicious. Highly recommend the fish in soy sauce and the various tempura and side dishes. Discovered it too late as today is our last day in Nakai. Perfect local authentic Japanese eatery.
View on GoogleWe were so lucky to come across this restaurant. It’s a real hidden gem. Our family came here for dinner twice during our 4 nights in Shinjuku. We had such authentic Japanese food experience and with the best service provided by the owners. Thank you for having us.
View on Googleo my gosh !! We are from Brisbane Australia and we like Japanese food. We eat it a lot at Sono etc . But this is real ! We ate here two nights ago with four family members and a bento box to die for. Leaving Tokyo we wanted to bring our whole family here so eight of us came back two nights later. No English but we manage to make a booking at 5 o’clock (they almost don’t speak english and I don’t think they take bookings) for eight people of 7.30pm. Instead of the bar room downstairs they showed us up to a private family dinning room . Food was six stars and a real Japanese experience because a really really nice Japanese family owned and operated . Best experience we have had. Food was to die for . No Aussie wine but beer, sake and plum wine for desert. Best Japanese food experience we have ever had . Eight of us spent $400 or 40000 yen ($50 each for the meal of your life food and all drinks) for what ever food or drinks we could think of . We left wanting nothing . We hugged the owners, chef and other customers (who helped translate)when we left. Recommend tofu , large platter sashimi, grab salad, best miso soup on the planet , tempura vegetables , grilled prawns and Hero fish. Drinks were beer , sake and plum wine for desert How do I finish. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
