Went to 「味角苑」 in Kagurazaka. Ordered the harami set meal for lunch. This kind of yakiniku set is handy when you want to quickly satisfy a meat craving. The harami was substantial, and the set meal was properly satisfying. Rather than being astonishingly outstanding, it was the kind that reliably delivers on “this will do nicely today.” A personal highlight was that they have Sapporo Akaboshi. Being able to pair lunch with Akaboshi alone puts me in the right mood. Overall, it's “decent,” but there are days when “decent” is exactly what you want. Handy to remember as a place for a yakiniku set + Akaboshi in Kagurazaka.

I went in at 13:00 on Monday and was surprised there was nobody there. But when I checked later, it turns out they only stay open until 13:30 on Mondays… The stone-pot bibimbap for 1,200円 had an incredibly crisp rice crust and was fantastic! The seasoning was a little strong. The menu said dessert and salad weren't included because of rising prices, but it was 100円 cheaper than the menu price, which made me laugh. The soup had a strong broth and garlic flavor and was really delicious.

Visited with 4 men from work. Unexpectedly, members of our company's finance team were in the tatami room at the back too. Kuro Label tastes great in a glass! Kaku would be even better if the mug were chilled! The meat was the best yakiniku I've ever had! The kimchi dishes were insanely delicious too! The soup at the end was incredibly spicy! Sorry the photos aren't good! It was an amazing yakiniku restaurant. Definitely coming back!

2024.08 Visited with colleagues from work. Made a reservation that same weekday morning. There were 5 of us, having a course costing about 6000円 (before tax). The assorted kimchi and namul were delicious, then the tontoro arrived. It was seasoned and tasty, though perhaps a little salty. The beef tongue was thick and delicious too. The wagyu kalbi and special harami came on the same plate, and we ate them wrapped in sangchu lettuce. These were delicious as well. Then hearts and offal. They were a little chewy and hard to get through, but we enjoyed them. Personally, I liked the kalbi kuppa at the end. I thought both the quantity and the price were just right.

An old yakiniku restaurant in Kagurazaka, an area with fierce competition among yakiniku restaurants. I was surprised there weren't many customers, perhaps because it's in a slightly hard-to-find location. But thanks to the lack of people, I could eat quietly and comfortably. The interior is old but feels upscale. The price was 1980円, a little high among Kagurazaka yakiniku restaurants (the average lunch price at Kagurazaka yakiniku restaurants is around 1500円), but the meat looked beautiful, wasn't greasy at all, and was tender and very delicious. I'd like to eat there again and recommend this yakiniku restaurant.
