海神Menya Kaijin Shinjuku Ten
「麺屋 海神 新宿店」 is a shio ramen specialty shop on the 2nd floor of さんらくビル, a 1-minute walk from 新宿駅. Its signature dish is 「あら炊き塩らぁめん」. Fish trimmings delivered daily are seared and carefully simmered, concentrating seafood umami in a clear broth. The flavor changes daily depending on the fish sourced, another pleasure unique to 海神. The broth is paired with custom-made thin noodles blending 2 types of wheat flour. To finish, we recommend dipping 「へしこ焼きおにぎり」 into the remaining broth and enjoying it like rice porridge. If you are looking for light ramen in 新宿, please stop by. Enjoy light, clear fish-broth…

A bowl that feels like the ocean in winter— clear, steaming, and quietly alive. The broth is made fresh each day from different fish, so it’s never exactly the same twice. Light, but deep. Comforting, but with a sharp edge of flavor. Toppings are simple—ginger, herbs— just enough to let the soup speak. The noodles slip easily through chopsticks, as if they’ve been waiting for this broth all along. It’s a small shop, often with a line outside, but the wait only sharpens the first sip. Not just ramen— a reminder of how the sea tastes when it’s close to home.
View on GooglePaid a visit around lunch time on a weekday. There was around 6 persons queuing at the narrow staircases as this restaurant was at 2/f. After browsing the menu, the clams ramen came to mind as this restaurant,'s seafood broth was very popular. When the ramen came, the very first thing was to try the broth. Perhaps, I expected too much. It was quite disappointing. Did not reveal the umami of seafood. The 2 calms were larger than ordinary ones and they were quite chewy though. The ramen itself was average. My set included a rice cake which was alright.
View on GoogleA very light and clean-tasting soup. This particular ramen store is located on the second floor of a busy street. They serve excellent seafood or fish-based broths. We ordered three different types of soup: salt, spicy, and clam base. If you like, you can add the premium topping, which includes extra prawns and chicken balls, and was quite delicious. There is also onigiri black pepper, which they provide for an additional ¥100 to enhance your meal. So good we ordered extra clams!
View on GoogleThis ramen shop is a good break from the usual rich, meat-based ramen. They serve thin, firm noodles that go really well with the strong dashi stock made from grilling and then simmering around 4-5 types of fish usually— this time; golden-eyed snapper, bonito, conger eel, and red sea bream. They serve it with grilled heshiko (fermented mackerel) rice ball which is recommended to be dipped in the soup and consumed like porridge. It was really light, perhaps a little too mild for my taste, but my mom loved it.
View on GoogleA great spot if you’re into seafood ramen! The broth is super flavorful and light, made from fish and seafood instead of the usual pork. The portions are big for me. They even include an onigiri, which is a nice touch. The place itself is pretty small but cozy, and the staff are friendly. It’s a bit different from your typical ramen experience, but definitely worth trying if you’re in Shinjuku and craving something unique!
