I stopped by because the roadside sign said “鶏白湯”. When it was put in front of me, I was surprised there was no soup. So it's abura soba,,, I'm not young anymore, so that junk-food flavor doesn't suit my taste. Maybe it's popular with university students.

I had the yaki abura soba. It was somewhat like that yakisoba at some restaurant with thick sauce inside, but personally I didn't find the ingredients or noodles very tasty. u

You can enjoy inventive, delicious abura soba. The menu changes frequently. The price is a reasonable 600円. The short opening hours are probably the one and biggest drawback.

I went around 13:30 during the spring semester after GW ended, but it was closed with a notice saying it catered to groups, at least at lunchtime. It didn't seem to be a place where you could try inventive new menu items like before COVID. I feel like there isn't much information about 麺爺ラボ even when searching online.

The manager's kindness makes the shop's atmosphere pleasant. Regardless of value for money, it's a place I'd want to stop by whenever I'm nearby.
