A friend took me here and honestly, I owe him big time. This little bouchon lyonnais tucked away in Tokyo is the kind of place you stumble upon and immediately want to keep as your best-kept secret ,except it’s too good not to share. From the moment we walked in, the owner made us feel completely at home. Warm, attentive, genuinely passionate about what he does : the kind of person who makes a meal feel like an experience rather than just a transaction. That energy set the tone for everything that followed. Now, the food. My starter was the Truite Saumonée .Sounds simple, tastes extraordinary. The fish was silky and precise, the kind of dish that makes you put your fork down for a second just to appreciate it. Followed by the Kinmé-dai with jasmine rice and bamboo shoots :delicate, beautifully balanced, French technique meeting Japanese ingredients in the most effortless way. And then the dessert happened. Chocolate mousse with a duo of vanilla ice creams. I work with vanilla for a living and I am telling you this was something else 😍 . Genuinely stop what you’re doing and order it immediately. If you’re visiting Tokyo and want a meal that actually stays with you, this is it. One of the best I’ve had, full stop.

A very authentic French restaurant tucked in the side street of Kagurazaka neighborhood. The chef is from Lyon France. He goes back to Lyon in summer and procures local ingredients for the upcoming seasons. We chose prefix lunch course, and selected appetizers, main dishes, and desserts. Great food, service, and atmosphere. Japanese, French, and English menus available. Credit cards accepted.

Delicious food in Little Paris of Tokyo. Very welcoming staff, explaining everything they can to us in English. The food was done with nice detail. Price was reasonable for what we ate. We got the one of the set meals. Highly recommended.

Wonderful Veuve Clicquot champagne dinner at Lugdunum for the restaurant’s 18th anniversary. Located in Kagurasaka, the place is a Lyon style specialized bistronomie bouchon This year, the theme was “Homage to Paul Bocuse”, and it was a chance to enjoy special dishes from Chef Christophe and his team — including the iconic VGE black truffle soup, Salmon and Caviard Duo, "Rouget en ecailles",.. As you can see in the pictures, everything was gorgeous. Among the drinks, I had a particular fondness for the Extra-Brut Extra-Old cuvée, which was truly extra-wonderful, not to mention the rose, and the flagship : the Yellow Label. Even if you missed this event, no worries — at Christophe’s, every day is special, and the service is always perfect, do not hesitate to step-in.
