I went to this cafe with a large group. We all paid 2,500 yen per person. When we arrived, we were put in the basement, the only place large enough for the group. The first thing we noticed was a lot of smoke down there; it smelled like burning food, or something else that shouldn't be burning. The floor was shabby and stained, there were lots of ugly rips in the walls, chairs and carpets, and we all received a few simple dishes of standard/simple pizza, chicken, pasta and salad that offered minimal servings for the whole group, and three kinds of non-alcoholic beverages. Might be a good hangout for 500 yen or less if you don't care about a grunge look, but for what we paid it was a huge disappointment.
View on Google早稲田 used to have plenty of café-food places like ノラリクラリ, ウルトラカフェ, and クーン, but those days are long gone. This might be the only one left? I think you could almost say that. That said, the menu is omurice. But you can have omurice with all kinds of sauces! There are demi-glace sauces, white sauces, tomato sauces, and more. I recommend ハーフアンドハーブ, choosing 2 sauces. You get to enjoy different flavors at once, which is great.
View on GoogleIt’s near 早稲田駅 and easy to find. Right in front of 早稲田大学, it’s a café popular with students. The omurice had fluffy eggs, just the right portion, and was very delicious. The price is inexpensive too, outside 1000円, so I’d like to come back for lunch.
View on GoogleAn omurice specialty restaurant. There are various sauces, including tomato, cream, and demi-glace, and you can also choose half-and-half, so it’s nice to try 2 sauces.
View on GoogleVisited again after 3 years. The dim, cramped interior has become brighter (still just as cramped). You can enjoy generously portioned omurice with a strong ketchup flavor and soft, runny eggs.
