Soba noodle shop

★ 4.22,430 reviews

Established in 1971, a 55-year-old popular soba shop. Enjoy homemade noodles and handmade onigiri! The soba is Japanese soba using buckwheat flour and wheat flour uniquely formulated exclusively for Kameya. We make it every day at our own factory only for that day. For the dashi, we use honkare katsuobushi and makoto kombu from Hakodate, and combine it with kaeshi that has been aged for over 45 days.

We really enjoyed this place last trip and went back this trip! It is open early, maybe even all night. So we went for our breakfast. They give a generous portion and it’s fun to watch them preparing food. It is quick small so we try to eat fairly quickly. I think it was only 570 yen each

Fantastic soba experience in the heart of Memory Lane - reminded me of Naruto and all the anime i watched as a kid. There were a few people queued up ahead of us at 7pm but the line was moving quickly. Note seating is encouraged only one at a time. They have a small menu in english. You select from 3 options, pay when you’re seated after you order and within a minute you get your delicious bowl of soba. I tried the hot soba with veggie tempura (#1) - warm comfort on a cold night.

An old soba quick fix stall in the heart of Shinjuku. Nothing fancy. Cash payment only. Open 24hrs by two old folks. Only a few seats and they put up a notice to remind you to focus on eating rather than talking. High turnover.

A true hidden gem in Omoide Yokocho! It’s a favorite among local salarymen for a reason. The soba is incredibly delicious and very affordable. This isn't a place for a long chat—you come here to focus on your meal, enjoy it, and head out so the next person in line can have a seat. High efficiency and great taste!

Absolutely LOVE this noodle spot in Omoide Yokocho. Classic Tokyo. Earlier this year when we were here in Tokyo we wanted to come here but we couldn’t get a seat - there are only 7-8 seats! And there’s usually several people waiting for a spot. The service is fast though. When you sit down, you’ll make your choice of the three items they have available - all the same with slightly different options. It’s a noodle dish with broth and served with fried onions on the top. It’s absolutely incredible! The broth flavor has a slight sweetness to it, it’s not too rich but super flavorful. The noodles, Soba Noodles - next level! I don’t know much about Soba Noodles but WOW. I devoured them. We loved it. Second visit: I was out exploring Tokyo on Monday morning at 5:30am and there isn’t a coffee shop open anywhere in Tokyo, but there are lots of noodle shops! I happened to walk past Kameya so said what the hell, let’s go for round two. They were full at 5:30-6am on a Monday morning! I waiting a few minutes, got a spot and ordered the #1 and it was out to me in a matter of minutes. It was the perfect dish on a cold Monday morning outside, warmed me right up. Fantastic spot, great service, incredible food. Just go, you’ll be happy you did
