A beautiful family-run Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki restaurant that offers a variety of different okonomiyaki and yakisoba options at very reasonable prices, considering the otherwise rather expensive neighbourhood. This place definitely feels cosy, traditional and authentic as much as one could possibly hope for. The food is excellent, the drinks aren't terribly expensive either, so it is suitable for many kinds of events with friends, family or colleagues.
View on GoogleA Hiroshima okonomiyaki shop located along Honda-dori in the middle of Kagurazaka. I have used it several times before, and you can't see anything inside from the outside, so it takes courage to enter, but once you enter, it is a small shop with a counter and about 3 tables run by the landlady alone. The menu is centered on okonomiyaki, with a simple composition of iron griddle and Hiroshima vegetable pickles, I ordered [Special Soba] 1,480 yen [Hiroshima vegetable pickles] 435 yen + beer, and it was baked in about 10 minutes. Since I can see the state of baking well, I could see the process of baking Hiroshima-yaki with a sense of realism, so it didn't feel long. Hiroshima vegetable pickles are pickles that can be enjoyed with a crunchy texture with moderate acidity and saltiness, and could be enjoyed as a good companion for beer. Special Soba had volume with toppings of garlic and extra meat on the composition of ingredients centered on base cabbage and ten-tama. Garlic is more effective than expected, and it is delicious with the sweetness and richness of Otafuku sauce with a rich aroma. Pork is also included wherever you eat, and I was able to thoroughly enjoy the compatibility of cabbage and pork. I was able to focus on enjoying Hiroshima-yaki in the quiet and mysterious atmosphere of the store created by the landlady. I would like to visit slowly when I want to taste the atmosphere of Hiroshima-yaki.
⸻ English translate: Hiroshimakko, nestled in a side street of Kagurazaka, is a cozy spot where you can enjoy authentic Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki. The small interior features both counter and table seating, with a nostalgic and welcoming vibe. We sat at a table this time. Since the cooking is done on the griddle behind the counter, you won’t see it made right before your eyes—but the dish arrives hot, with a deliciously savory aroma. The okonomiyaki was filled with cabbage, boasting a crispy outer layer and fluffy interior. The sweet-savory sauce tied it all together, making for a dish that’s both satisfying and surprisingly light. Photos of the Hiroshima Carp decorate the walls, subtly showcasing the shop’s roots. The service is relaxed and genuine—more about human warmth than polished formality. If you enjoy places with real character, you’ll feel right at home. If you’re in a small group, you may be able to sit at the counter and watch the cooking up close, which adds to the experience. One thing to note: the shop currently does not accept cashless payments, so be sure to bring cash with you. If Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki is your thing—or even if you’re just curious—it’s worth stopping by.

View on GoogleI went on a Friday night. Style where when you order food, the landlady makes it on the large iron griddle at the counter. I ate Tonpei-yaki and seafood okonomiyaki, and the balance of ingredients and sauce was good, very delicious. I am also grateful that they cut it with a spatula in advance. Unfortunately, there are no menus like pickles that can be a break, and almost everything is iron griddle food. I thought it would be better if there were a little more choices.
