very disapponited as I bought a set dinner by tabalog. Small sized dishes, bad taste and not willing to give a menu. Very bad exp.

View on GoogleDespite being in the heart of Kabukicho, it's a private-room izakaya with a surprisingly calm atmosphere. The rooms are fully private with doors, so you can relax and enjoy your meal in a private space, which was a big plus. The signature “ume dashi beef tongue shabu-shabu” has a broth with a refreshing ume plum flavor that brings out the savoriness of the meat—a deliciousness you can't find anywhere else. The red sea bream shabu-shabu was also extremely fresh, and just a quick dip in the broth makes it taste luxurious. The slices in the sashimi platter were thick, too, and every dish was beautifully plated and appetizing.
View on GoogleOn my way home from shopping in Shinjuku, I was looking for somewhere to eat and stopped by “金のだししゃぶ 八馬 新宿本店,” located underground in Kabukicho, Shinjuku. The name gave me the impression that it might be a bit upscale, but when I actually went, it was a calm Japanese-style space where adults can enjoy a leisurely meal. Being underground and a little removed from the hustle and bustle, it's surprisingly quiet and easy to talk, which left a good impression. The first thing we had, the shirako with ponzu, had no off-flavors or fishy smell at all, with a texture that melts the moment it hits your mouth. The ponzu's acidity wasn't too strong and really brought out the natural richness of the shirako—so well done it made me want sake. The grilled shrimp skewers were plump and grilled perfectly. Simple, but the quality of the ingredients came through clearly. The seared fillet sushi was one of the most memorable dishes of the day. The lightly seared fillet was astonishingly tender, and the fat wasn't heavy, so I enjoyed it to the last bite. It was well balanced with the rice and was satisfying less as “sushi” and more as a complete dish in itself. The five-kind sashimi platter was also very fresh and beautifully arranged. Everything showed careful work, and their dedication to the food came through. Overall the prices are on the higher side, but the quality of the food and the calm space more than justify it. I think it's an easy choice for business entertaining, dinners, or a meal on a slightly special day. When you want to calmly enjoy truly delicious Japanese food in Kabukicho, it's a place I'd definitely choose.
View on Google【A fully private room for grown-ups at your New Year's party!】 Today I went to 【金のだししゃぶ 八馬 新宿本店】, just steps from Seibu-Shinjuku, for a company New Year's party with 4 of us! It's a fully private room, so you can drink at your leisure without worrying about those around you—big plus! First we toasted and started with the three-kind sashimi platter! Octopus, tuna, and salmon—a reliable lineup, but the quality is on another level! The octopus, though thinly sliced, has a solid bite, the kind where the umami slowly spreads every time you chew! The salmon is nicely fatty, delivering a one-two punch of sweetness and umami the instant it hits your mouth! And the tuna is in a league of its own… Bright red and firm, one bite and you know it's good tuna—even without soy sauce it goes perfectly with a drink! So good! Next, the main event: sukiyaki! They generously use beautifully marbled kuroge wagyu, and the excitement kicks in the moment it hits the pot~ Cook it quickly, dip it in egg, and it's a total winner! It's so tender it melts in your mouth, yet the sweetness of the fat and the umami of the lean meat both shine through! A dish that made me realize what a difference good meat makes in sukiyaki—3150 happiness! The oyster tempura I ordered out of curiosity was also a jackpot! It's close to a breaded fry, but the batter is light and not greasy, letting the oyster's own flavor come forward! Inside it's rich and milky, and with salt the oyster flavor comes through even more—insanely delicious! It pairs perfectly with drinks; ordering this was seriously the right call! The morning-caught seafood shipped direct from the source and the carefully selected wagyu are both delicious with no compromises, so it's a place you can rely on for days you can't afford to get wrong, like business dinners or New Year's parties! With fully private rooms you can drink in peace, so I highly recommend it for grown-up get-togethers! A place I'd love to use again!
