Had an amazing experience at Shinjuku Yakiniku Gyutan no Lemon! The beef tongue was incredibly thick, but somehow still very tender and delicious. The egg sauce was definitely the key — it paired perfectly with the beef tongue and made every bite even better. Our waitress, Yui, was also wonderful. She was very friendly, attentive, and provided excellent service throughout our meal. She really made the experience even more enjoyable. Definitely recommend this place if you’re in Shinjuku and love beef tongue. Great food and great service!

Made reservations in advance since a friend and I decided to go here for dinner. Booked 6pm, arrived 10min early and got escorted to a seat right away. Ordered 牛たんまるごとざんまい3種焼き定食 (3-item set meal: “kiwami” speacialty, salt koji aged beef tongue, and green onioin salted beef tongue) and 檸檬のレモネード (Lemon Lemonade). Thick slices of gyutan that are soft enough to bite and chew. Totally enjoyed all 3 kinds. Try to sprinkle a little bit of the pink salt to elevate the taste. The meal was so filling! And since the meat was so good, I had a second serving of rice (free). I noticed a lot of people are wary of the white stuff (that’s grated yam or “tororo”). Pour it over the rice and enjoy, its healthy and aids digestion—packed with fiber and vitamins. Don’t skip it! Highly recommend the lemonade as well. I forgot to take a picture but they’ll serve the lemonade w/a slice of lemon that you squeeze yourself on a lemon squeezer. All the staff were super friendly, from the servers to cashiers. All four staff were encountered that evening spoke English. Paid: ¥3,980 (meal) + ¥550 (lemonade) Total: ¥4,530

I went there alone with reservation, and ordered lunch set recommended by the staff. The Gyu Tongue's texture is perfect! They also provide different sauce so that people can try out different flavors. My favorite is adding lemon juice and salt to the beef. During the meal, staff was nice and helped refill rice. The price is reasonable and I will definitely revisit! You need to book as it is so popular.

Ordered the Beef 3 Way platter together with the A5 Wagyu and thick cut beef tongue. The A5 Wagyu was tender. The thinly sliced beef from the 3 Way platter had a nice contrast of crispy edges with a juicy, tender center. As for the thick cut beef tongue, it was served medium rare with a crunchy texture. Some parts were chewy though a few pieces were slightly tougher to bite through. Wouldn’t say it’s worth the hype like social media said but good to try once Do make a reservation before heading down though, as the queue can get quite long without one!

Recommend the mix wagu and tongue set. The tongue is tender and tasty. Not what you expect. Went very well with the spice dip. The service staff was extra nice. Only suggestion is that maybe they can have a glass of red wine to go with the meat. Make reservation cause it can get pretty long wait.
