Nice place to spend time if you are a smoking person, you are allowed to smoke inside this place while having a coffee. It’s like in the old days 😍
View on GoogleA coffee shop in Shinjuku-sanchome Located behind Suehirotei! A coffee shop where smoking is allowed It's a coffee shop with plenty of charm, designed with the atmosphere of rakugo in mind. The seats are wide floor chairs, and I took a breather while gazing at the framed pieces on the walls. It was a quiet, cozy coffee shop.
View on GoogleVisited on the afternoon of November 3, 2025 A coffee shop near Shinjuku-sanchome Station, behind Suehirotei That day I came here on my way back from Shinjuku Gyoen When you go up to the second floor, the table layout is unique; I sat in the very back seat and ordered some nostalgic isobe mochi and coffee, and the isobe mochi came with tea! You can smoke inside, so I had a nice relaxed smoke This place is literally like Suehirotei's green room — the signs and menu inside make you feel like you've come to a yose Apparently it has a long history too; I read an article about it in a book in the shop. The lady running it is apparently the daughter of a rakugo performer, a real brisk, spirited Edokko
View on GoogleIt was Sunday evening, but it wasn't that crowded, which was nice. Smoking is allowed, so it's smoky. Tons of atmosphere. The staff are the straightforward, no-nonsense type. But it doesn't seem hard to go in even if you're not a regular 🙆 The coffee float was delicious ☕️
View on GoogleThe worst shop. We were told to choose from what was written up top, so I ordered coffee, and then was told that's a regulars' menu so I should order something I understood. If that's the case, I'd rather they didn't write it up there, and maybe because they took us for young customers, the female staff member was polite to other older first-timers but spoke to us in a casual, rude way. I'll never go again, and I don't recommend it. I was curious about how it looked and what it was like inside, so it's a real shame.
