As part of the set I ordered they forgot my gyoza. Waited a long time so I asked about it - they didnt apologize then ask ‘can i make it now’? Then i waited another 12mins for it to arrive. In that 12mins they served other customers their gyoza who had arrived much later than me. Food was fair, gyoza nice but wouldnt go back due to service and gyoza wouldnt be enough for me to go back. No apologies and no service of one extra gyoza even.

View on GoogleIn Japan, we have a term called “B-class gourmet,” referring to local foods and affordable dishes that capture the character of a particular region. Taiwanese food culture has also been gaining popularity in Tokyo, and there’s a casual spot near Edogawabashi Station that feels like a little taste of Taiwan’s street-food scene. The concept here is Taiwanese street food, with plenty of dishes priced under ¥1,000, making it an easy place to enjoy a casual meal without spending much. The highlight for me was the “Magao Boiled Dumplings” (6 pieces), with wrappers made in-house. They have a pleasantly crisp, clean bite, along with the distinctive aroma of magao, a Taiwanese spice sourced directly from producers in Taiwan. To pair with the dumplings, they also offer natural wine, which is quite unusual for such a casual restaurant. I noticed a business card from Virtùs, a natural wine specialty shop in Shibuya, posted on the wall near the restroom—their wine sourcing is definitely on point. Other options include mixed noodles with boneless pork ribs and lu rou fan (Taiwanese braised pork rice). The lu rou fan came with a generous portion of rice but relatively little topping, which was a little disappointing. Then again, it is street food, so perhaps that’s part of the experience. The wood ear mushrooms with sesame dressing were also delicious, with a slightly sweet and savory sesame sauce. They would make a great little accompaniment to drinks. The acting manager, Kinoshita-san, was also very attentive and welcoming. The restaurant was completely full on Friday night, so making a reservation is probably a good idea.
