I’ve always loved this place and it hasn’t changed a bit! Excellent coffee and cake, as usual! It’s such a comfort to know it’s still there and that it hasn’t changed much. I’ll always come back!
View on GoogleGreat retro mom and pop coffee shop with yummy cakes. Waseda students frequent this cafe and it’s quite popular in the area. For this visit I came on a Saturday in late afternoon, we had to wait about 15 minutes to get seated. Nothing was in the cake display but they had freshly made cakes coming out as we sat down (cheesecake and pound cake if I recall). Staff was relatively nice but seemed extremely busy. I got the pound cake and a black coffee. The pound cake was fruity and had a rum/liquor taste to it. The cheesecake was still warm (my friend wasn’t pleased with it since she likes her cheesecakes chilled but as it was fresh out of the oven that would have been hard to avoid, I personally wouldn’t have minded if it were me). The menu only has a few drink options (standard ones like cafe latte, Vienna coffee, black coffee and so on), no soy or dairy-free alternatives for drinks unfortunately. The vibe of the cafe is great. If it wasn’t so popular I would love to study here for longer periods but on weekends it’s quite packed so I’m not sure what the studying situation is like here.
View on GoogleBest homemade cakes ever for less than 500 yen! Simple & delicious rustic cakes made from scratch with love. This cute kissaten is baking delicious cakes everyday. They use seasonal ingredients so there is a large variety of cakes all year round. The café is nearby Waseda university so it tends to be crowded but it has a very nice cozy atmosphere where you can relax and enjoy a nice coffee/tea time with a delicious cake. The tart tatin and the blueberry cheesecake are highly recommended! The pound cake is also amazing! Bonus: take-away is available and you can also order a whole cake.
View on GoogleThe best hot chocolate I've had in Japan. The cafe itself is gritty could use remodeling, but it's a vibe.
View on GoogleA wonderful cafe. With yummy cake and drinks, also with quiet place. The cake is sweet and sour. The cafe is with delightful photos. Its hard to imagine a city has a quiet place like this cafe. I can relax here.
