This is one of the classiest Sri Lankan restaurants in Tokyo. The owner is a very decent and professional person, and the restaurant has a warm, welcoming atmosphere where you can enjoy authentic Sri Lankan cuisine. I especially loved the patties the filling was amazing and tasted just like home. The flavors are truly authentic. The restaurant seems to be geared more toward Japanese customers than Sri Lankans. For example, eating with your hands isn’t allowed, finger bowls aren’t provided, and the portion sizes are smaller than what you might expect at a typical Sri Lankan restaurant. That said, I would happily recommend this place to any Japanese friends who want to experience authentic Sri Lankan food in a comfortable and elegant setting. It’s something Sri Lankans can be proud of, and it’s wonderful to have a restaurant like this representing our cuisine in a foreign country.
View on GoogleAn authentic Sri Lanka restaurant in the residential area at Shinanomachi, quiet and calm. The owner, Mr Bandara, welcomed us warmly and his attention to clients need is impeccable and kind. I informed him that my wife spice levels and he recommended the best menu options for us. I admire his authenticity since we ordered a lot, and he was quite honest to informed us, it might be too much, which we were grateful. The carrot salad was refreshing and nice. The fish croquet was well seasoned, with a black pepper hint. The chicken pasties were delicious, savory and mild in the spice level. The red rice was steamed well, the lentil curry was well seasoned and mild spiced, the tuna fish curry was nice, quite spicy, so we didn't take too much of that sauce. The eggplant mujo was yummy and helped mild the spicy fish curry. Overall, the food quality was great, ambience was relaxing and inviting, and they even have a terrace with a Koi tank, which was impressive. They have a lunch set menu which has 7 types on curries in one plate, and we might try it out next time. The dinner prices are decent and they take card payments. They also have afternoon teas as well, so if one fancy a high tea experience or savor goodSri Lankan cuisine, highly recommend this restaurant.
View on GoogleFrom the outside, the restaurant already looked inviting, and once inside, the space was beautiful and welcoming. The staff were thoughtful and attentive, making the experience even more pleasant. Most of all, the dishes were colorful and absolutely delicious. I was amazed by how many different flavors could be created using coconut.
View on GoogleFirst time having Sri Lankan cuisine, reminds me of Indian and southeast Asian food. Only has one plate dish. SO GOOD.
