An adult hideaway you'd hardly believe is in Kabukicho! A great-value izakaya where you can enjoy carefully prepared yakitori at low prices. A calm underground space I'd also recommend to people who often drink in Shinjuku. At the lively counter, you can enjoy freshly made, piping-hot yakitori, carefully grilled one skewer at a time. There are plenty of healthy, delicious drinking snacks too, such as fragrant grilled eggplant and fresh ginger served with miso. The convenience of luggage storage and the astonishingly low prices keep the happy surprises coming. An excellent spot for either your first or second stop.

I like 番番 in Kabukicho and go often, but an acquaintance told me there are 2 番番 restaurants and the other is a completely different place with delicious pork skewers. I was surprised, so I went. The pork skewers and other dishes were delicious, the drinks were generous, and it was inexpensive, quiet, and nice. I'll go again.

Everything I ate was delicious! The 豚バラ大葉 and ささみ梅肉 were especially good. Also the green peppers. And the ginkgo nuts too… the simmered offal too… the buttered potatoes too… The owner is quiet, but has a craftsman's air, which I liked. The cooking and salt levels were exquisite. It's reasonably priced considering it's in Shinjuku. I wish I'd found it sooner~ It's underground, so you have to take the elevator down. The entrance might be a little hard to find, but please work up the courage to go in.

My first visit. The grilled dishes were inexpensive and delicious. The alcoholic drinks were cheap too, and the atmosphere was good. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.

The day after the manager of ぐりすと in Kabukicho told me, “もつ焼き番番 has gone independent and opened a restaurant by Shinjuku's west exit,” I went there. I'd heard the restaurant's name, but there was no sign out front. I nervously went down to basement level 1, and they seemed to be open, so I got in without any trouble. Just as I'd heard, the drinks are insanely strong (limited vocabulary). On top of that, chuhai drinks are about 280円, which is ridiculous pricing in a good way. I ordered a whole range of skewers, but the 豚バラ here is absolutely outstanding!!!! At 220円, the same as chicken wings, it's fairly pricey, so I was privately wondering how it would be, but the 豚バラ was unbelievably delicious!!! It might not suit people who like crispy 豚バラ, but it's soft and fluffy while still juicy. It was so delicious that it might rank among the top 2 豚バラ I've ever eaten. Overall, a very good restaurant with 【cheap・delicious・strong】, and the manager's blunt manner is nice too. #新宿、#やきとん #番番
