We were fresh off a long flight and had not eaten a real meal in about 2 days, and 'the meals' restaurant welcomed us with open arms, and delicious food. Absolutely incredible, we will certainly return during our Tokyo stay. We recommend the Himalaya kebab set, the Otsumami kebab, and the mutton curry.
View on GoogleWe came here as we wanted a night off eating Japanese food. We were nervous to have Indian curry in Japan as in the UK the curry is amazing. The service was great and the guys here seem very friendly. Our naans were the cheesiest we've ever had and were fresh and fluffy. The curry base for both our aubergine and chicken curry was the same and pretty mild (though you can choose spiciness) but well rounded flavours, a bit sweet for my liking though. However, cleanliness was an issue and made us lose our appetites unfortunately.
View on GoogleThis is one of my favorite restaurants to visit when I'm in Shinjuku. There's limited seating which gives it an intimate feel, the waitstaff are friendly and inviting, the food tastes amazing as well the portions are large for a reasonable price. I strongly recommend. (Pics attached are of seafood fried rice & a chicken kebab plate with rice)
View on GoogleI've been to Japan hundreds of times, and walked by this restaurant more times than I can count. Figured I'd mix things up and try it once. Ordered the vegetable curry, because I'm vegetarian. It was remarkably greasy, mostly just a bowl of oil. Tried a bite of potato, was ok, maybe a 2 out of 10, then discovered that their "vegetable curry" is a bowl with a couple potatoes in a greasy bowl of meat. I threw it away. The garlic naan is just nann slathered with garlic butter, no actual garlic on the naan. And to make matters worse, the guy who takes your order is rude and curt, a very unusual experience to have in Japan. There is so much good food in Shinjuku, it's amazing that this place is still in business. This is the worst food experience I've ever had anywhere in Japan, and it's not even remotely close. Combine this with a number of reviews with photos of cockroaches in the food, and it should discourage anyone. I'll never go here again.
View on GoogleUpdate: 06.2022 Recently when I've ordered a kebab, the bread has been dry and as tough as cardboard. The chicken and sauce is still good, but stale bread makes an unappetising meal. 3 stars for now. 11.2021 Ordered a Himalayan kebab - great flavors, and generous serving size. The person behind the counter was also very friendly. 5 stars!
