This was my first time trying Egyptian food, and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. We had the falafel plate, lentil soup, kofta wrap, lamb baguette, and the Egyptian national dish Koshari with lamb…all full of flavour and comforting. Please don’t miss the koshari. It had rice, pasta, black lentils, lamb, and seasoned toppings all coming together beautifully. I would also recommend the falafel—it’s made from fava beans, not chickpeas like the falafel we usually find. We finished with basbousa and hot hibiscus tea, which was the perfect ending. It’s a small place, so would recommend making a reservation if you want a table. The menu is available in both English and Japanese, which is great for non-Japanese speakers. The service was prompt, warm, and pleasant. The food felt warm and like home, and I left telling myself I will be back soon.

This is the absolute best food I have eaten in all of Japan!!😍😍😍😍 Everything tasted amazing. I’m so happy I found this place. I will come here more often—and hopefully every time I fly to Japan. Everything from this place tastes like 1000/10. We had chicken, koshari chicken, a falafel plate for two, a lamb sandwich, carrot cake, and cheesecake. It was all incredibly delicious. Great quality!! Highly recommended!!!!!!😍😍🫶🏻

Being a vegan I love looking for places to eat easily! Take heart that you will be treated with kindness and also treated with a hearty meal! The falafel served here is amazing. The texture is crunchy but not tough-- not at all! The inside is very fluffy and nice. The contrast has made me come back 3 times at the time of writing this review 🤭. I can't stay away!! The other ingredients on the plates and sandwiches compliment each other well and give room for the whole meal to sing. They do have a variety of (halal) meat based foods as well if you're looking for a different kind of protein! Also, finally, I ordered a pomegranate soda and it's very bubbly and just a right amount of sweetness. Please come and pay a visit to Abu Essam, you will not be disappointed!

Friendly staff and delicious food! I ordered the falafel plate (added chicken for ¥200 extra) and a mango smoothie. Portion was generous and filling. The falafels were really crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Mango smoothie was also refreshing and fresh. Would recommend if you are craving Arabic food in Japan! (Edit) I went a second time and ordered the chicken koshiri which was also delicious and a filling portion. Also highly recommend their desserts; the baklava was crispy and flaky on the top and had lovely syrupy layer on the bottom!

Great spot for halal food! The Egyptian Koshari was a highlight—tastes just like home. The staff are very polite and go out of their way to be helpful. I’ll definitely be back to eat here again!
