We discovered this little gem on our recent visit to Tokyo. Food was authentic and delicious. Service was prompt and we could hear the chef prepare the sambal freshly. The staff were very attentive and friendly. We will be visiting again when we are in Tokyo. My favourite was the fried fish with white sambal!
View on GoogleWe had a wonderful experience at Apsara Sri Lankan Restaurant in Shinjuku! I ordered the vegetarian rice and curry, and it truly felt like eating back home — full of flavor and authenticity. My wife had the chicken curry wrap served on banana leaf, and she loved every bite. The presentation and taste were spot on. Our son enjoyed the Sri Lankan-style chicken biryani, which was aromatic and delicious. Great food, warm hospitality, and a real taste of Sri Lanka in the heart of Tokyo. Highly recommend!
View on GoogleHad an awesome meal at Apsara Food and Bar in Shinjuku! Their Sri Lankan dishes are on point—mutton kottu was spicy and flavorful, the rice and curry were super tasty, wade had a great crunch, and the cucumber salad was refreshing. Cool vibe, friendly staff. Defs recommend for a legit Sri Lankan food fix!
View on GoogleIts was a pleasant evening, Food was really tasty as well as the service is excellent. We had dinner with my relative. Totally enjoyed the food and time there. If someone looking for Sri Lankan Food in Shinjuku thats the best place to go.
View on GoogleI hope this review doesn'''t get darkly colored by the struggles with the Chromebook. Extra nasty today... Especially with snapping closed and losing partial drafts. About 25 seats, but most of them are downstairs and the master suggested a reservation to sit there. Nice for groups and feels like an izakaya, but with elephants. Wi-Fi available though it seemed to be problematic. More Chromebook problems? The food was a kind of hard-to-describe hodgepodge. I had the vegetable version of the plate lunch, but it mostly resembled the chicken version. I remember the coconut and something that must have been daikon, beans, some lentils, and long-grain rice, but largely at a loss for words. Not very spicy, especially considering reports I've read about Sri Lankan food. The salad seemed average, but I had an interesting beer on the side. I'm going to limit it to a medium four stars, but partly on the consistency factor since it was closed the first time I tried to eat there.
