The three of us found this place by accident. We were hungry and had a big morning of exploring Shibuya and Shinjuku. It was just past lunch time but we didn't want to be crammed into a small corner like we noticed at other places around us. We went a bit further down past the Godzilla hotel and noticed a sign for this place. The sign read that the restaurant was located at BF, which we learned only earlier means something like Basement Floor. We went down the very ordinary stairway and noticed the shut restaurant doors. It said "open" and looked intriguing and inviting. We went in and .. wow! We were all so delighted to discover such a treasure! It seemed like it was well liked by locals, which is always a good sign. They had an English translated menu and incredible service with an English speaking waitor. Our waitor was excellent and very helpful! I'd say we had outstanding service! The food was phenomenal. I had a lunch special that came with a few little side dishes. There was so much flavor in every bite. I never had almond tofu before. It was really delicious! Atmosphere was awesome and authentic. The entire meal was very reasonably priced. We enjoyed the entire experience! If I lived here, I'd visit this place again and again.

A long-established Taiwanese restaurant in Shinjuku Kabukicho. Even though it's in the heart of Kabukicho, you can eat authentic Taiwanese cuisine. The Shaoxing wine-marinated clams bring out the umami and sweetness of the clams, making them irresistible in their soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture. The duck and pork meat are also expertly seasoned with a sweet and spicy flavor, making every dish delicious and sure to go down a treat with a glass of Shaoxing wine.
