Lunch on the 3rd day in Oshima. Came to the store wanting to eat ashitaba soba. Ashitaba vegetable tempura soba. There was broccoli tempura, which I ate for the first time, but it was delicious so I thought I'd try making it at home. Since it's just the mother alone, if there are customers ahead, it takes time for the food to come out. It was the taste of home cooking.
View on GoogleI ate at the store, not at the inn Entry time was around 12:50 When I entered there was an elderly female staff member but she was chatting with a neighbor inside the store. There was no greeting like welcome. After that, she poured me cold barley tea. I ordered the tempura soba which is said to be kneaded with ashitaba, it is 1600 yen. It came out shortly after about five minutes. My impression of the meal is that the tempura batter is very hard... It's close to the tempura in the supermarket's prepared food section. No, maybe the supermarket's batter might have been a little softer. The taste of the soba was normal. I didn't feel like there was any particular scent of ashitaba. After eating I wanted to pay but there were only other customers in the store, so I left the money on the table and called out to the kitchen and left the store. I didn't see them cooking. Immediately after, a middle-aged female staff member came out and started cleaning up. At that time she greeted me. It was hard to ask but I gathered the courage to ask... is the tempura freshly fried? then she answered as if it was a bit difficult to say that it was prepared in advance. I told her... I see... it was hard... I don't know about other menus but I definitely don't recommend tempura items! Judging from the store's attitude, I feel like I can tell 10 from 1, so how about other menus... I intended to give it 5 stars when I entered... it's extremely disappointing.
View on GoogleI had ashitaba noodles and vegetable tempura. It seems she runs the shop by herself, so she looked busy. It was called ashitaba noodles but it seemed like there wasn't much flavor in the noodles. Under the salt for the tempura, a small ashitaba leaf was laid out, and that was where I could feel the aroma the most. I had it in a large portion. I was full.
View on GoogleOne of the few soba shops in Izu Oshima. I dropped by while working. I ate cold tanuki soba. It has various ingredients on top and is delicious. This is a hit.
View on GoogleA valuable restaurant in Honmachi. Izu Oshima's soba broth is on the sweet side. The katsudon was delicious.
