A small cozy joint offering a unique menu of eel, Chinese softshell turtle soup, etc.

View on GoogleThe best eel-filled restaurant! Went at 13:00 when it opened, and it was full in a second. The eel skewers are also varied. Many 'tempting' menu items!! The Showa atmosphere inside the store is also irresistible (haha). Although it's an old building and might feel like it, it's kept clean so you can eat with peace of mind. If I had to ask for more, I'd be happier if there were a few more shochu or sake options. Almost forgot to write, the potato salad is also innovative and you must try it!! Ah! One more thing, you must also try the 'bone crackers' which were the 'number one popular' item! We ate and drank a lot, so for a normal person, I think it would be around 2,000-3,000 yen. It's a great value restaurant!
View on GoogleAn izakaya specializing in eel in the bar district of Oimachi. After 15:00 on a weekday, I walked in because I was curious about the exterior. Inside, it's a small space with about 4 counter seats and 2 tables. There was one group of customers at a table. We were shown to the counter for two, and after that, other customers came in next to us. Although it was a bit cramped, this distance felt comfortable and gave it the atmosphere of a town tavern. Since it was just after opening, the owner seemed to be working alone. Even so, he served quickly and efficiently, the food came out fast, and I felt that this must be a popular shop on a daily basis. What I ordered this time: ・Otooshi (appetizer) Simmered eggplant ¥363 ・Kuro Label (draft) ¥594 ・Eel liver ponzu with lots of green onions ¥429 ・Tanzaku (kabayaki) ¥363 ・Shiro Tanzaku (shirayaki) ¥363 ・Liver ¥330 ・Kabuto (head) ¥330 ・Oolong high ¥429 ・Corn tea high ¥429. For the kabayaki tanzaku, I added sansho, and for the shirayaki, I added wasabi. Both are simple but you can really feel the flavor of the eel, a taste that makes the drinks go down. It was a place that was just right for having a drink while snacking, a place I'd want to stop by casually.
View on Google5.5.2026 First visit to Oimachi, used for daytime drinking. Inside, there are 4 counter seats and about 3 sets of small tables for 2 (max 4 people) in the front and back. The shop focuses on eel. It focuses on skewers, and it was reasonably delicious (^^) But, the bones were quite hard... It might be better if they were fried (or roasted?) to be more crispy and fragrant. The eel skewers were very delicious when eaten with freshly grated sansho, the aroma really came out. Since it was just a light drink, I held back, but if it were night, I might have eaten quite a few, lol
