I had the best time with the owner and with the regular locals. Highly recommended.
View on GoogleWhoah! I’ve been eyeing this spot for quite some time and either the hours didn’t line up with my schedule or I didn’t have cash on-hand. I finally got around to trying this cozy, Okinawan neighborhood joint and was extremely satisfied by the soki soba teishoku for a reasonable price with generous amounts of food. Seating is fairly limited with maybe 4-5 bar stools and 1 small table in the back, but doesn’t too crowded other than mostly locals in the area.
View on GoogleI was the first to arrive for Saturday lunch. About 6 people came in soon afterward, and the owner looked busy running the place alone. I ordered the tebichi soba set (950 yen). It comes with sea grape salad and jushi, making it great value and filling! Returned in June 2016 Visited for lunch on a weekday. Ordered the soki soba set for 950 yen. The soki was delicious, with the flavor soaked right in. The tea was sanpin tea. It felt completely like Okinawa!
View on GoogleA pretty authentic Okinawan restaurant. We went for lunch, and there were only 2 groups inside, so we got in without waiting for seats. We sat at the counter and ordered cartilage noodles, pig's trotter noodles, luncheon meat, and a serving of Okinawan seasoned rice. The flavors were very authentic, just like the food we'd had on a previous trip to Okinawa. The cartilage was stewed until tender and flavorful, the pig's trotters were delicious, and there was also a sea grape salad that tasted wonderful. A very authentic Okinawan restaurant. Recommended.
View on GoogleA homey place. A sure choice if you want Okinawan food. Since it's run by one person, the wait for food is fairly long, but the service is also good as a result. When I visited, the owner gave me complimentary shikuwasa and sparkling water. Just adding shikuwasa juice to plain sparkling water makes a fantastic drink. The bitter melon tempura is on the moist side, but delicious with just the right bitterness. The interior is small and smoking is allowed, so keep that in mind if it bothers you.
