A beautifully curated tea and sensory experience! Takizme tucked inside a quiet Tokyo neighborhood. We were asked to wait outside until the session began. Before stepping in, we were invited to pause at the little doorway, to breathe in the scent and listen to the gentle sound of the water fountain. It set the tone for everything that followed. Inside, the space is small and serene, hosting only four guests per session, which made the experience feel personal and unhurried. Our host spoke excellent English and welcomed us with warmth. He shared the story behind Takizme, encouraged questions, and guided us through short meditations before and after the tea ceremony — a grounding touch that made the whole experience feel even more meaningful. Each tea was brewed with care and explained with patience: where it came from, why it was chosen, and how it paired with the delicate sweet bite served alongside it. Every detail felt intentionally curated, and my husband and I appreciated that a lot. We’ve always been fascinated by Japanese culture, though the language barrier can sometimes make deeper understanding difficult. Takizme bridged that gap for us. It offered not just tea, but insight — a gentle gateway into Japanese traditions, craftsmanship, and lifestyle. Highly recommended for anyone seeking something authentic and quietly profound in Tokyo.
View on GoogleI visited Takizme in may of this year. It was an amazing and truly unique expirience- one of the best druing my whole trip. The host is very insightful, each tea and sweets pairing was explained to us in great detail. I especially loved attention to detail in takizme as a whole concept- starting at the entrance as a calming moment filled with palo santo smell, beautifully designed pillows and tables that we used, architecture of the tea house and the gift set. 100% recommend!
View on GoogleAn unmissable experience for anyone visiting Tokyo. Far exceeded our expectations. The place where the ceremony takes place is a traditional house located in a tranquil neighbourhood. Every aspect of the ceremony - design of the space, tableware and utensils used throughout the experience - were delicately chosen with great attention to detail and aesthetics. The different types of tea were thoughtfully chosen to reflect aspects of Japanese culture, and were brewed to perfection. The sweets were made in house and some of the most delicious and unexpected combinations we could have ever imagined. Throughout the ceremony, the guide created a relaxing atmosphere, guiding a casual but intentional conversation with his guests which completed the experience and brought it to a level where it became unforgettable. Many, many thanks.

View on GoogleI had such a wonderful experience at Takizme during my trip to Tokyo. From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere felt calm, welcoming, and thoughtfully curated. The hosts guided the ceremony with great care, sharing the meaning and traditions behind each step. The tea itself was exceptional, it is paring very well with Wagashi. Every detail—from the utensils and presentation to the pacing of the ceremony—reflected a deep respect for Japanese craftsmanship and hospitality. What I appreciated most was how personal and intimate the experience felt. The setting was beautiful and peaceful, making it easy to slow down and appreciate the moment. If you’re visiting Tokyo and want to do something meaningful beyond the usual sightseeing, I highly recommend Takizme. It ended up being one of the highlights of my trip.
