One of the things we’ve really tried to do this trip is find amazing local restaurants. Just down the road, Christian found this amazing Omurice restaurant. It’s run by an elderly husband and wife, who look to be in their 70’s. You have to get there before it opens, as it feels like you’re going to someone’s house to eat. The quaint little spot has only three tables and a small bar with a few more seats. The husband and wife duo are the only staff and really epitomize service. The food was amazing and service was, too. We had a chance to try two famous dishes that are quintessentially Japanese.
View on GoogleOMU-goodness, I love this restaurant. This local space is typically full and reservations are too! Call ahead of time to book, especially if you have a party of 2 or more! If you’re eating solo, they have space for 3 individuals at the counter. The store has a small interior with one table outdoors as well. Very cutely decorated in an olden day, American style. The couple comprises of server and head chef. They only have a Japanese menu, but the best dish for me is their curry omurice! I was shocked at the amount of ketchup used, but surprisingly it did not take overwhelming. The curry is quite standard but the cream mixed together with it is next level! Really delicious and filling. A small salad comes with a light and fresh dressing. Comfortable atmosphere with high quality food. I will return again for another delicious, warm meal.
