10 min. bus ride from Ooimachi stations and you can see Shinagawa changed from Jomon era to modern city. The dis play of Omori shell deposit is few min. walk. The entrance fee is only 100 yen!
View on GoogleEntrance fee was ¥300. I was here just as there was a wave of elementary school kids trying to take pictures for their treasure hunt. As they left and I was just about done with one exhibit, another onset came in. Very happennin' museum! 😅 The display upon entrance was DENSE with information. A little overbearing, but I really wanted to know more about the history of how Shinagawa developed and how it contributed to the Tokyo area's development throughout time. Was surprised to find out that Shinagawa and Portland, Maine have a sister city relationship. That's pretty cool! Very thankful to the staff for working with my limited Japanese. 😅 Thanks again for providing me to sheet with QR codes that translate every bit of information in the museum. It helped tremendously! The sheet has translations in Chinese & Korean as well.
View on GoogleSmall but nice museum. The entrance fee is only 100yen. You can learn the history of Shinagawa region, especially sea shell mound. They have written guide in English, Chinese and Korean. They also have a nice garden.
View on GoogleThis museum is small but contains enough things to understand the history of Shinagawa region. If you are curious about how the region changed over time, certinly visit here and learn the history! The entrance fee is only 100¥ for adult and 50¥ for children. Be sure to check the outside tea garden as it is beautiful. You can also head up to the 2nd floor to find many books that talk about Japanese history. Unfortunately, there is no book written in English so you will have to guess. But, all other things are explained in english if you scan the q-code with your phone!
View on GoogleNot a large museum but nice and the price for an adult is only ¥100. The place is English friendly with QR codes and the video screens have an option for English.
